Yarn Blends
One of the most interesting things to us is all the different blends that yarn producers come up with. One of the most versatile blends is Wool/Cotton, as seen in O-Wool's Balance, a 50-50 blend of Organic Cotton and Organic Merino.
There are a few advantages to this blend of fibers. Cotton doesn't retain heat, and wool is breathable, so it's a great 'all-weather' blend - cool in the summer, warm in the winter. Also, this blend tends to be non-allergenic, a big boost for those with wool sensitivities.
Putting cotton and wool together also tends to be more durable, combining the strength of cotton with the memory of wool, helping your garment retain the shape you intended.

 Manos Trunk Show - Now Showing!
We're excited to bring you a Trunk Show featuring the wonderful yarns and designs from Manos Del Uruguay. A certified Fair Trade yarn as well as a Womans Cooperative, Manos makes some of the most beautiful yarns we've seen, from the hand-spun wool 'Clasica', to the new Alpaca/Cotton blend 'Serena'. All items on display through the end of March, so come see it all before it goes!

 New Yarns
We've been unpacking, stocking, pricing, and generally working our little fiber fanatic fingers to the bone to bring you a host of new yarns! In addition to 'Serena' from Manos, we have new Noro yarns and new Noro Colors! Also, new Nashua Chunky, some Corn Based yarn, Hemp/Cotton Blends, new Mountain Colors, Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino and new Debbie Bliss Eco Baby - an organic machine washable cotton.
We also received a shipment of new Misti Chunky colors, as well as Baby Me Boo, a worsted weight hand painted 'thick and thin'. Come pick out your favorite colors as these never last long in the shop!
