August  2012                 Helping Neighbors in Need in Sandy Springs & Dunwoody Since 1987
School Supply Donors Help Hundreds
Melissa, a student at Galloway School and a member of Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church, helped to manage the school supply program at CAC this summer.

We asked and you came through for local children in need of new back packs and school supplies! Thanks to a large donation from Holy Innocents' Episcopal Church and donations from many more businesses and individuals, CAC is giving about 600 kids back packs and supplies for the start of school this month!

Meet Andy & Family: This Could be Youfamily clip art

Andy is father of 3, a professional IT tech with a college degree and a stable resident of the community, until he got laid off. While his wife has a steady job as a patient representative at a nearby hospital, Andy's loss of income affected his family drastically. CAC helped the family weather the crisis and stay in their home by providing assistance with rent, and monthly food and clothing. His children also benefited from our youth programs with free summer camps and more. Andy was able to find another job and now supports his family once more.

Summer Celebration!

Donors like you helped hundreds of local kids this summer through CAC attend summer camps, receive summer lunches and school supplies. CAC recently held a Summer Celebration and invited our camp attendees to a party at North Springs United Methodist Church. Kids shared their camp experiences, ate hot dogs and snacks, played games and received their back packs for school!

You Make it Happen

It's been a busier year than usual (if that's possible!) so far at CAC. We expanded and remodeled much of the center earlier this year, made possible by donations of materials and volunteer manpower. We gave more children school supplies than ever before, made possible by generous donors and volunteers; and we had a successful Fashion Show fundraiser, once again due to donations and volunteers.  All while continuing to assist our neighbors in need with emergency financial assistance, food and clothing.

None of this would be possible without one common factor: YOU!  Your financial contributions, donations and volunteer time (individuals and groups) make it happen at CAC.

Funding remains tight this year and we appreciate your support of local families who need help the most.
