Give to a Family in Need this Season

holiday girlThis holiday season you can help a local family in need with gifts for children and food for the table. Adopt-a-Family and fulfill a child's wish list, or donate grocery store gift cards from Publix, Kroger or Wal-Mart in $10, $20 or $30 amounts.

Local donors have already adopted 270 families with 600 children this holiday season!  We have more than 150 children that still need to be "adopted" for holiday gifts. View families and chrildren's wish lists online at www.ourcac.org.

2011 Vintage Affair a Great Success!
Joan Gill Redmond and Nancy Berger
Mother and daughter, John Gill Redmond and Nancy Berger at the Country Chic Vintage Affair.

The 9th annual Vintage Affair was our most successful ever! The benefit exceeded expectations and raised $129,000! About 325 people attended the CAC fundraiser on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at The Retreat at Perimeter Summit. Guests enjoyed fine wines from 7 award-winning Georgia wineries, foods from 15 of the best local restaurants and took part in exciting live and silent auctions. Thanks to our 15 business sponsors and all of the businesses and residents who donated food, wine, VA2011logoauction items and volunteer time. Proceeds support programs and services that help prevent homelessness and hunger in Sandy Springs and Dunwoody.

Carla and her husband both work, but they came to CAC seeking assistance because they lost income and they are struggling to get by. Carla's husband had his work hours reduced and Carla had medical issues and was forced to quit her job. She was recently hired back as a cook. She is trying to find financial assistance to attend culinary school. Meanwhile, she is improving her interviewing skills and job skills with public speaking and computer classes at CAC to increase her employment opportunities.

Little Hands, Big Hearts
The Day School pre-school class at Sandy Springs Christian Church donated food and diapers to CAC. Thank you moms who made it happen!

Together We Make a Difference

TCCAC is overflowing with food and holiday gifts right now, evidence of our generous community and your willingness to help neighbors in need.

Requests for assistance from CAC increased this year due to the slow economy. Thanks to you, CAC is there for our neighbors so that they don't fall through the cracks.

Your donations help families avoid eviction or keep their lights on. Your donations provide food, clothing, school supplies, summer camp experiences and holiday gifts.Your support does make a difference.

Best wishes to you and your family for a happy and healthy holiday season and new year.
