Annual School Supply Drivesupplies

Now through August 31. Help local children in need be prepared for the start of school by donating school supplies to CAC.

Pick up some extra supplies while shopping for your children, or hold a drive with your community group, congregation or at your office to fill a few backpacks with supplies needed by students!

CAC works with schools in Sandy Springs and Dunwoody to provide supplies to students and teachers.  A list of needed school supplies is available on the CAC website.  Make donations at CAC, 1130 Hightower Trail, Sandy Springs, M-F 10am-4pm or call to arrange a time (770) 552-4889.

Boy Scouts Food Drive at 4th Parade

scoutsparade2Bring the family and bring some food to donate at the Dunwoody 4th of July parade!

Troop 764 Boy Scouts from St. Luke's Presbyterian Church will once again collect along the parade route non-perishable foods for CAC.

Please give to the Summer Lunch Box program to feed local children in need: juice boxes, snack bars, box macaroni and cheese and SpaghettiOs.

Bridging the Gapbridge

A single mother with two children lost her job and found herself unable to pay rent and utility bills. In dire straits, she came to CAC for help. CAC assisted her with paying rent and referred her to other agencies to help with utilities. Our client team reviewed her situation, helped her apply for food stamps and gave her food from our pantry to take home that day. She now has a full time job as an office coordinator and is supporting her family.

CAC Awarded Society Grantsociety

We are pleased to announce the Community Action Center was awarded a grant of $11,000 from the Sandy Springs Society. The local philanthropic groups awards funds to multiple organizations annually. CAC was one of 17 non profits to receive grants this year.

Fun and Fashion with CAC!
fashionshow
CAC volunteer Susan Westmoreland modeled clothing for sale in the fashion show.

Our Fashion Show & Sale fundraiser on May 26 was a great success! Gals of all ages enjoyed the fashion show and shopped for new designer apparel and consignment quality clothing at amazing prices. Fashion jewelry, hand bags, Jafra beauty products and Stella & Dot Jewelry made it a great girls night out!

Thanks to all of the volunteers who helped organize the event and also to One River Place for hosting CAC.

Dear Friends,

Summer is upon us and things are heating up at CAC. The food pantry is busy with additional requests for food that typically occurs in the summer months. Youth and Adult Education programs are in full swing. We are in need of food, school supplies and volunteers in all areas. Join us, give a little or give some time and help local families in need.

I want to thank the groups participating in Focus on Kids summer campaign to help children, the volunteers who put together a successful Fashion Show, and the daily volunteers who make CAC run smoothly!

In Service,

Tamara Carrera
