The defective Kitec plumbing issue still exists with many homes in the Las Vegas Valley.  In the past two weeks we know of three different agents who encountered Kitec plumbing in the homes they were selling.  In all three instances they were able to turn a potential deal killer into a very positive situation.  In all three instances the agents were able to resolve the Kitec issue

prior to closing and present their buyers with a home that contained a new plumbing system that carried a 25 year warranty.  All three agents were heroes in the eyes of their buyers and will be able to count on many referrals in the future. 

Course of Action for Addressing Kitec


The course of action for addressing the Kitec issue has changed.  The law firm representing the Plaintiff's in the Clark County Class action suit, Kemp, Jones,  and Coulthard, no longer provides information to anyone other than the homeowner.  When the property in question is an REO property this presents a real challenge.  Pragmatically speaking, the attorney's have made their money and they have nothing to gain from assisting real estate agents. So don't expect any support, guidance, or direction from them. 

Your First Step...


Before going into the information on the other settlement you need to know that if the home in question is included for the Clark County Settlement then it is ineligible for the second settlement. 

 

So how do you determine whether or not the home is included in the Clark County Settlement if the attorney's for the Clark County Settlement are not giving out any information?  As always, follow the money.   

 

The solution is to go to the guys who still can profit from Kitec.  This would be  the court appointed the plumbing contractors.  There are four (4) plumbing contractors who were authorized by the Las Vegas courts to remedy a home with Kitec plumbing.  They are:

If the home is included in the Clark County settlement you can bet the plumbing contractor will assist you all they can to achieve a proper path of resolution; The plumbing contractors want to get the job!

If the Home is Not Included in the Clark County Settlement 

   

There's another settlement?  Oh yes!  You heard it here first!  There is a new class action settlement that includes homes across the United States as well as Canada.  Again, this class action suit involves all homes containing Kitec that are not included in the Clark County Class.  If the home is not included in the Clark County Class but does contain Kitec then this is the link for you:
