Come to the AAWS Gallery to meet staff and Board members and learn more about membership. We'll cover Gallery Shows, Community Exhibits, the Gift Shop, Volunteer Opportunities, Workshops and more! All members and friends are welcome!

Want to Refer back to Old Notes?
If you need to refer back to Weekly Notes but find you have deleted them, just go to the Email Archive! Go to the AAWS Contacts Page and click on the "View our Email Archive" button on the left sidebar. 
 
What about Old Prospectuses?
After the art delivery date, prospectuses are removed from "Call for Artists". To access, click on "See all News" in the bottom right of the Home Page, then scroll down to "Archived news"
Drawing Circle 
Saturdays, 10AM - Noon in the AAWS Gallery. No sign up or fee - just drop by. Open to artists of all skill levels who wish to practice drawing. All AAWS members are invited to drop in.

Artist Workshops
  In the AAWS Gallery. Space is limited so RSVP with your payment to hold your place! Check out the CALENDARS tab on the AAWS website to see all upcoming workshops and talks.
  • The Pastel Workshop with Bill Gramley originally scheduled for Feb. 24 will be rescheduled for March.
  • March 6, 10 AM - 1 PM: Collage Workshop with Mona Wu. Learn to use and organize various materials like found and prepared papers, fabrics, and found objects to explore the possibilities of surface manipulations-the essence of two dimensional collage. Fee: $20/members and $25/non-members. This workshop will be repeated March 18, 1 - 4 PM for those who couldn't make the March 6 date - or for those who just want to do it again!
  • March 10, 3 - 5 PM: Fabric Marbling workshop with Bill Colvard. Make and take home an original silk scarf. All materials provided. Fee: $30/ members and $35/ non-members.
  • March 25, Noon: Protect yourself online! Artist legal tips for new internet issues. Steve Virgil, Wake Forest University, Community Law & Business Clinic, will discuss  protecting your rights with  tips for intellectual property and copyright security. Free. $5 donation requested
Volunteer Opportunities 
We are looking for volunteers to help us set up for some special events .  We have need for some helping hands on the following dates:
 
  • Food and Drinks needed for the Opening Reception, February 25, as well as help with set up and clean up.
  • Set up for New Members' Orientation- Saturday, February 27th at 9:30AM
  • Set up for Mona Wu Collage Workshop, Saturday, March 6th at 9AM
  • Set up for Bill Colvard Marbled Silk Scarf Workshop, Wednesday, March 10th, at noon 
 
Set up should take around 30 and no more than 45 minutes.

How to Put Artwork in the AAWS Gift Shop 
Sunny Hudkins is now the manager of the AAWS Gift Shop. In order for us to keep the gift shop organized and take care of all work,  NO gift shop inventory may be picked up OR left at Associated Artists unless she is here to check it in or out. Artists must call or email Sunny IN ADVANCE and make an appointment with her to deliver, exchange, or pick up any gift shop items. New AAWS Member Handbook Coming! 
AAWS plans to publish a new member handbook with useful information and a membership directory in March. Email info@associatedartists.org if you do NOT want any part of the folowing listed: name/address/phone/work phone/cellphone/email/membership level/medium. Feel free to email us with your media preferences or if you have any questions or concerns. Juried members will be listed with the area in which they are Juried.
 
Advertisers are needed to help defray the costs of producing the handbook so that we may provice it free of charge to members! Ads start at $100 for a business card size. If you would like to place an ad or know someone who might be interested,  please contact Terri at info@associatedartists.org
