A Note On Self-Nurturing
-- Nomi Bachar
Many times we find ourselves upset about something, but we don't take the time to acknowledge our feelings and give ourselves the nurturing we need.
We sweep the feeling away by moving on to an activity or we tell ourselves that it's "babyish" to feel that way, or in fact, it scares us to "go there" and therefore we repress or deny the feeling.
When we don't take a minute to acknowledge and honor our feelings, it is as if we are saying to ourselves that we don't deserve love and care. It is a message that we are sending to ourselves--a strong one. Our Emotional Self feels unheard and neglected. By doing that, we are repeating a pattern of neglect and rejection that we have carried within ourselves from childhood.
The art of self-nurturing is worth cultivating. |

Excerpt from "Gates of Power® : Mastering the Channels of Empowerment"- Nomi Bachar's Upcoming Book |
" We can think of feelings as colors or musical notes. They merge into each other to create emotional landscapes, some dark and oppressive, others passionate and exuberant, yet others tender and peaceful. These inner emotional landscapes move, shift and dissolve into each other constantly. If we are free emotionally, the flow of our feelings occurs effortlessly. On the other hand, if our emotional fluidity is blocked or repressed, we might experience being stuck in the same landscape with the same colors. We have primary colors: red, blue, and yellow with which we create many secondary color combinations. On the emotional scale, I define seven primary emotions out of which all of the secondary emotions spring. Three, I call The Dark Emotions: Fear, Pain, and Anger. The fourth I call The Bridge Emotion: Need. And the final three are the Light Emotions: Joy, Love, and Peace. Out of these seven primary emotions, endless combinations are born. ." |

"Skills for Positive and Nurturing Inner Dialogue."
Workshop at Moonfire Empowerment and Sprituality Network.
Our inner dialogue can be a source of tremendous support or devastating destruction. When we are critical, self-hating, shaming and diminishing towards ourselves, we actually express these feelings and attitudes in our inner dialogue and, by doing so, we devastate our emotional self and cripple it. This workshop will give you hands-on, practical tools and skills to cultivate a positive and nurturing inner dialogue, so that you can have the support that you need to create an empowered life.

Date: Saturday, October 9th
Time: 5pm to 7pm
Costs: $6.00 per person
Location: 208 W. 13th Street
New York, NY

"Arts and Transformation"
Workshop for all artists and artists at heart.
This workshop facilitates diving into our inner depths as people and as artist and finding new levels of experience and creativity.

The "Arts and Transformation" Workshop is for all artists, new and professional (and artist at heart). We all know how powerful the arts are in helping us express and understand ourselves. In this workshop, each participant will choose an important theme that they wish to explore, experience, and possibly resolve. We will use writing, drawing, movement, sound, and music to work with our personal themes. At the end , each participant will present a short "expression" representing the transformation that has taken place through the expressive process.
What art may spring from such beautiful depth!
