I wake up every day grateful to be living in my warm and cozy home. Having started a business and having struggled financially to kick start it, I have a greater appreciation for those who struggle and wind up on the street. Greetings!
Have you ever asked yourself "why am I doing what I'm doing with my life and career?" I sure have. To this day, like peeling the layers of an onion, I am clarifying my own vision. While I wrestled with this in the last couple of months, I also met inspiring leaders who are successful, making a difference in their communities and wrestling with the same question. Will we ever get to a point where we can say "This is it. I did it."? To get to "it", whatever "it" is for you, takes patience and the wisdom to listen to yourself, your heart and passions. The good news is, once you peel one layer, there is less weight on the next layer. Layer after layer, we will get closer to "it". And, while we are on this journey, there is joy to be had because we are that much closer to being fully alive.

What drives your leadership?
 There are leaders who strive to excel so that they can make a positive difference in our communities and world at large. Their success allows them the freedom to fulfill their vision, their legacy. Money is one of their vehicles, a resource that comes with their success. Money to them is not the end but a means to the end. Their relationships are also resources they have available to assist them in fulfilling their legacy. And, the more authentic and aligned they are with their vision, the more inspiring and contagious they become.
Who is a leader?
Anyone can be a leader. Leadership shows up day to day in how you live your life, in the impact you are having, and the effort you put into your own personal development (not because you "have" to but because you "want" to). After our basic needs are met, we have the space to grow to our full potential. It's up to each and every one of us how we use that space. The first step is to really know yourself and what drives you.
What to watch out for?
As a coach, I deal with clients who want to create positive change in their life; who want to know and be themselves; who want to clarify their vision and live an authentic and fulfilling life. The greatest roadblock to their full potential is their self-limiting beliefs. Time and time again, I have encountered clients who stop their progress with their resistance. This is a natural occurrence in the coaching process. After all, 90% of our decisions are made by our subconscious mind. So, be aware of this tendency and question yourself when you start resisting change. Your resistance could be a positive sign, a sign to challenge yourself and stretch you into a new way of life.
How to clarify your vision?
Begin by listing what you are most passionate about. What is most important to you? Come up with at least 5 items. To what extent are you living your passions? Notice the gap and decide how to fill the gap. Then, notice the impact this is having on your life and others.
