Today the Lord spoke to me, asking me to ENCOURAGE the Body to a Higher Focus--- HIM!
Like Paul, I say: "For Love's Sake I Beseech Thee..."
Can we all unify in repenting to Him for our recent out-of-focus focus? We have focused on politics, cultural behaviors, trends and passing fads, personalities and celebrity, and every other wind that blows. In all my years I have found only ONE THING worthy of my passion, and that Not a THING at all: Jesus!
"One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I
may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold
the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple."Psalm 27:4 KJV Jesus Christ is worth passionate focus to the exclusion of all else, yet we persist in creating, or assisting in the creation of mindsets, religious cultures and behavioral patterns and paradigms, and political movements.
A Parabolic Example:
A recent phenomenon is the morphing of groups of believers into Observant Orthodox Jews. My dear friend Rabbi Marty calls his Jewish fellows 'religious' when they do this---and it carries a positive connotation in that context and under that covenant.
I wonder? Should we also call it 'religious' when we see Christian, Gentile brothers and sisters do the same?
I am NOT referring to the fact that the Lord has called the Gentiles to perform signs and wonders as a witness to our Hebrew siblings. I am Not referring to our call to Oneness with our siblings the Jews. I am NOT referring to celebrating the spiritual realities represented in love feasts. I am NOT suggesting foregoing the study of Torah, Hebrew, or the OT prophets.
The Lord has called us to become one full man in convergence with with the Jews. (Ephesians 2:14~15) What I am pondering are some current trends and profound changes of focus that include unusual aculturization that may or may not be led by Holy Spirit.
Does affecting Jewish manners and customs and making ourselves over into what we are not help in any way to focus upon Jesus?
"As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded
that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves
from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and
from fornication." Acts 21:25
I hear the Lord calling us ahead and upward into the ONE NEW MAN of Ephesians 2. This is a call into Himself as our metaphysical Reality (Acts 17:28).
We are called INTO CHRIST JESUS as our Reality together with our brothers the Jews.
I perceive in my spirit that in order for this coming together---this synthesis (see the Greek for this in Ephesians 2)--- we must, to a man, not become like one another. We must become Christ-like in our unique identities as sons and daughters.
Beloved, the Body of Christ is just Not the Same Without You really being You!
The Prophetic Word He gave me today is a Call Forward and a Call Upward:
"Beloved, you are not your behavior. You are not defined by any group to which you belong.
You are neither Jew or Gentile.
You are neither male or female.
You are neither clergy or laity.
You are LOVE because I AM LOVE.
Come up here... don't look back...and
Be Yourself!"
This is Who and Whose You Are:
"God is Love, and he who abides in Love abides in God, and God abides in him"
1 John 4:16 Jesus is the Personification of the Love of God. He is the touchable, tangible Love of the Father. He is the expression of the Love of the Father. You and I are the Present Day Manifestation of the Love of Jesus. We must actually cast off all affectations that would be a block to that call.
LOOKING TO JESUS
"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of
witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so
easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set
before us" Hebrews 12:1
"And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God." Luke 9:62
Lord,
I throw myself forward into You. Transform me into LOVE!
Amen
