"It's Imperative to Renegotiate Some Relationships!"

This is a word for all of us, I believe...

It is vital that we keep all of our relationships alive, fresh, and organic.

In order to do this, we must have and experience one another as New Creatures in Christ every day!  We must extend this very Grace and Freedom to one another daily---because Jesus sees us in this light each day.  It is the light of His Redemption.

What This Looks Like


Have you every caught yourself in a conversation with someone, discussing a third party...and you hear yourself say, "You know how he is..."

I was in such a conversation a few years ago and said those very words.  After my friend went home I received a strong rebuke from the Lord.  It went something like this:

Lord:  "Kelly, haven't I said that you are a new creature in Christ every day for it is written:  Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new?"

Me:  "You did, Lord...that's 2 Corinthians 5:17"

Lord:  "That's impressive.  You know the scripture but you do not know the Truth and Reality of it."  (He is tough on me sometimes, tough and tender---it is that kind of relationship.)

Me:  "Ouch."

The Lord revealed to me that in that particular relationship I was not allowing the other to be a new creature in Christ.  I was holding that person in bondage to my own perceptions of "You know how he is..."

I repented and the Lord continued to reveal to me the implications and ramifications of not allowing GROWTH and RENEWAL to those He loves. 

When we categorize and pigeon-hole people into concrete perceptions we freeze the relationship in time and space.  That is earth-bound and entirely un-transcedent---it is downright un-Christlike.

 Jesus is the Author of the New Relationship
 
Consider Peter and his denials of Jesus.  Jesus saw where Peter was at on a very difficult day---and Jesus saw who Peter is in the Reality of Jesus and Eternity.  I like to see this as Jesus cut Peter the biggest of breaks---well---and me too.

Why We Must Renegotiate


 For several days Holy Spirit has been quickening my spirit on this word you are reading.  In my spirit I hear:

"It is of vital importance for My people to Move their Relationships into the Dimension of Eternity."

"The Kingdom we are building is an Eternal construct, but you are only forming temporal relationships!"

This is done IN CHRIST JESUS.

"For IN HIM we live and move and have our being...For we are also His offspring."
Acts 17:28.

Beloveds, we must have spiritual eyes and ears for one another.

Today, while its still called today, let's present all of our relationships to the Lord---moving them into Him and into the Eternal Realm.  Let's ask for eyes to see and ears to hear one another as He sees and hears each one of us---as a new creature in Christ.


This may require some discussion and prayer with the other guy!

I am confident that there is Grace for that as well.  Paul negotiated an Eternal relationship and a Love-Contract with the Corinthians.  He put this out there:

"For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. " 
1 Corinthians 2:2

Paul was expressing his willingness to see each person as a new creature IN CHRIST each time he saw them.  This sets an apostolic precedent for each of us.

Admittedly, there are going to be people who for one reason or another---unforgiveness, unwillingness, or lack of vision---will not enter into this new love-contract and Reality with you.  Be free.  When it is up to you keep peace with all people.

This I know:

The people that you are called to co-labor with to establish the Kingdom of Jesus Christ are the relationships that MUST be kept IN CHRIST, in Eternal Reality, and in a constant place of renewal.

ONE SURE SIGN of LIFE is visible change and growth.

You must allow it, encourage and nurture it.

And you have a Christ-given expectation to receive the same.
