Updated Sanitation Ordinance

Beginning March 15th, garbage may no longer be placed in plastic bags at the curb. All garbage must be contained in plastic bags and properly stored in a watertight container with a lid.

RFP Issued: Youth Services Consultant

The City of Poughkeepsie has issued a request for proposals ("RFP") for vendors interested in providing consulting services for the City.

Mayor Tkazyik stated "The City places a high value on our youth.  They are the future leaders of our community and it is important acquire a better understanding of what organizations have the greatest impact on our youth and create a plan of action to effectively allocate resources."

The City is interested in proposals from those providing professional and qualified consulting services for a City-wide study of all youth services. 

The deadline for submissions will be March 15, 2010. The City anticipates selecting a provider by April 1, 2010.

Any vendors interested in submitting a proposal must do so by March 15, 2010 addressed to:

HOME Rehabilitation Grant Program for Low Income Senior Citizens

This program offers qualified, low income senior citizens a forgivable grant of up to $5,000 for repairs to owner-occupied, 1-3 family homes. The grant proceeds can be applied to life safety issues around the home; new windows & doors, HVAC system upgrades, roof repairs and more.
