MAX Wellness/CrossFit Campbell is going

In an
effort to cut back on our waste and environmental impact, you will soon notice
some changes around the studio. Starting with eliminating the styrofaom
cups for water.
*FREE WATER
BOTTLES, while supplies last! We will be lowering our styrofoam cup usage
by encouraging all members and staff to use water bottles. Pick up your
free bottle at our Front Desk starting today!
*Towel usage,
please help us cut back by using only one sweat towel, one bath towel, per
visit.

Paleo in a Nutshell Part 2: Exercise
Effective training is more than workouts. It is a carefully balanced state of well-being between stress & rest.When this balance is achieved, your fitness improves at a steady rate.
The take home message from this video is work out hard, rest/play hard.
Routine is the enemy. Keep workouts short and intense. Regularly learn and play new sports (active rest). (Sounds like CrossFit)

Client of the Month
LeeRoy Bowles
Many of you may know LeeRoy as it seems he is always in the studio.
LeeRoy started out as a private session client a couple years ago and has been with our CrossFit group since its inception last year. He was CFC member #1.
LeeRoy has an infectious smile and enthusiasm that is hard to miss. He is quick to introduce himself and genuinely curious as to who you are. He constantly cheers on others, whether in his class, or simply passing through.
LeeRoy regularly brings guests to introduce them to the lifestyle he embraces (keep in mind guests who sign up receive a first month discount as do you for your referral).
I'm happy to say LeeRoy has become more than a client. He & I have become great friends outside the studio, just as he has with many of you.
Next time you see him, try to beat him at saying hello and offer him words of encouragement!

Rules/Etiquette
CrossFit West Santa Cruz posted the following & I like it so much I wanted to share it with you guys/gals. CrossFit boxes as a rule are not that big on formality. Shirts? On
or off, go for it. Cussing? My delicate sensibilities can handle it.
Grunts, groans, screaming? Hey, whatever gets you through the WOD.
Blood, sweat, tears? As long as it's not the 70s band, yeah, no
worries. Short shorts, long shorts? Whatever floats your boat, man
(no thongs, sorry Golden). Chalk? My life is covered in it. Make fun
of Golden or Cliff? Knock yerself out (see line above). Not formal
tends to be an understatement at CF West.
