A Wisdom Academy, CoreChange News and 10,000 Jobs in the Urban Core

Exciting initiatives prototyped in the design phase of the Cincinnati CoreChange summit include a wisdom academy promoting a new kind of learning, an alternative media for the city and a framework for creating 10,000 jobs annually in the urban core.

We look forward to unpacking those and other prototypes in upcoming coverage. We also plan to feature what some of the "strangers" in the event took away for their own cities.

How this coverage ties into the work of the media group created at the summit remains to be explored, and we look forward to seeing how it all converges in the next few weeks.

In the meantime, check out our latest story capturing the high points of some participants, a blog on what this summit signals for all communities going forward, and a number of great blogs and photos we've curated.

Enjoy!

Collaboration and new connections among high
points for participants

CINCINNATI - As the third and final day of the city-wide CoreChange Summit in Cincinnati was wrapping up, participants began to reflect on the experience and how they will stay involved in the  movement to build a new American city.

For participant Leslie Stevenson, a Cincinnati resident and AmeriCorps VISTA member serving at Gabriel's Place, there was a "pleasant tension" during the summit.

Did Cincinnati Effort Set
New Precedent?
More than 600 Cincinnati residents from many different walks of life gathered this past weekend in the grand ballroom of the Millennium Hotel on Fifth Street West for a kind of conversation that guaranteed has never taken place at such a scale in this city before.

As a participant, I felt I was living a kind of history I'd only read about, a story where courage and beauty in spirit prevail, the stuff of William Wilberforce's legacy for instance.
