Why the Cincinnati CoreChange Summit is so Important
Connecting, community, and co-creation will be hallmarks of this remarkable effort
It's not so much what a community has as what it does with what it has that determines its socio-economic health.

This is one of the reasons the approaching CoreChange Summit in Cincinnati is worth attention and appreciation. The summit puts into action some principles and practices that could pave the way for learning and thriving in other cities.

Beyond the Summit

Evidently the summit this weekend is just the beginning of new and expanded efforts in Cincinnati.

The Community Building Institute will hold the space of convenor and co-ordinator around these activities. A post-summit infrastructure team also exists.

There are many post-summit issues to consider, perhaps the largest being sustaining and building on the momentum created through the summit.

An underpinning of social constructionism is that efforts such as these will carry their own momentum. On the other hand, David Cooperrider has spoken to the power of storytelling to connect, share and advance what an AI summit births. Peter Crowley, former Roadway Express vice-president, says he's seen success with the integration of the Lean program post-AI events.

Regardless of what the post-summit infrastructure does look like, there is no doubt people will leave with some tools in hand, including an introduction to the AI philosophy and way of being, and an influence from design and systems thinking.

As Victor suggests, that can only help set us all up well for rethinking our place in the community, in community efforts and in tackling any new challenges that will inevitably appear on the horizon.
