As we look ahead to 2012 there are some key events that tip off the spirit of things to come.

January marks the start of the International Year of Co-operatives, a 365-day spotlight on the world's oldest social-purpose organization. The year will be a time for co-operatives to come together to celebrate and raise awareness of the co-operative movement -  hundreds of activities are planned to promote the co-operative voice across the globe - but there is also ambition to use the year as a launch pad for a co-operative decade.
