What We're Thinking

Bring Something New Into Being

Ryan Eliason recommends discovering your gifts and then finding a way to use them to make a difference. One of his favourite pathways for doing just that is social business. Ryan is a big fan of social business simply because social business is sustainable. You can do whatever you want, as long as it's sustainable. These are great tenets in the architecture of creative work.

Discover your strengths. This truly is the first step in the path to self-discovery and being satisfyingly productive, being a creator.  If you know what your strengths are and look for ways to put them into action you will be naturally drawn to activities that make soul-sense. The Ontario Alliance of Christian Schools (OACS) is a hub that connects a vast range of independent schools across a geographic area from Thunder Bay in northwestern Ontario, to Sarnia and Windsor at the tip of the southwest.

Eastward, the alliance stretches beyond Ontario's border to Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and the OACS is the thread that binds all 79 schools and the 14,000 children they serve.

The alliance is purposed to build a "flourishing community of schools responding to God's call to integrate faith and learning," according to the organization's vision statement.

For the past four years Axiom News has engaged with the OACS seeking stories of innovative success and strength-based evolution within each school's individual mandate.

Bob Moore is the principal at Guelph Community Christian School, an OACS member, and he says the OACS News has been an invaluable tool for sharing ideas and connecting the vast range of schools in the alliance.

"It seems to be a great place to exchange ideas and inspire innovation and we really need that," says Moore of the news service. Read More
