Stories Show Who is Making a Difference

When it comes to qualitative evaluation stories are hard to beat 

There are many, many uses for online stories. Story is a complex, organic and ever-renewing process. As such stories can be applied to just about any objective.


The story gathering process can be used to ask transformative questions and therefore trigger creative thinking. Shared online and across geographic distances, they can build culture. Because they share what is working in narrative terms, each story can carry best practices to new readers.


If your story gatherers are working from appreciative, strengths-finding intentions, stories can also, over time, deliver up an inventory of community assets that can be mapped and moved upon.


Written word stories can also become an evaluation tool.


Evaluation is a critical tool for success. When it comes to evaluation quantitative measurement still seems to attract the most attention. The language of numbers breaks things down into common terms that can then be used to compare the performance of a variety of actors universally.
