Building Organizations Based on Nature
Our coverage has been exploring biomimicry, the study of how nature's processes can be applied to business and industry.

In Ohio the Northeast Biomimicry Action Network is working to implement biomimicry design methodologies to work at all design tables in the region. The world's only biomimicry consultancy, The Biomimicry Guild, and a Northeast Ohio sustainability network, Entrepreneurs for Sustainability (E4S), are collaborating on the project.

The Biomimicry Guild is using systems thinking based on nature to design better organizations. A study of nature's processes reveals it builds resilience through being diverse, redundant and having decentralized and distributed services for its functions.

The guild is working with forward-thinking businesses such as carpet manufacturer Interface Inc. to design innovative and sustainable business practices and products based on nature.
