The Wall Street Journal
and Winning Workplaces named 15 organizations to its Top Small Workplaces for 2008 in North America this fall.

Winner selection looked at topics such as employee-engagement efforts, staff turnover, training, annual revenue and teamwork.
Motivating and engaging employees is a common thread among the companies, which have growing enterprises despite the economic downturn.

Five of the 15 companies have an employee-ownership structure through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

Check out the stories in the second column of this E-News update to read about two of the companies on the list and our recent interview with the ESOP Association's president.

In our third column you'll find our latest Generative Journalism developments.

We invite you to share this E-News Update with friends, colleagues, and anyone else interested in learning more about the ideas and organizations we are covering.
