POINTS TO PONDER
Building a better world by building better workplaces
Since WorldBlu LIVE 2008 wrapped up a couple of weeks ago we've been posting stories capturing the words of wisdom you shared with us in New York. Some of those stories appear to the right, the rest of them are available at www.AxiomNews.ca.

You are all welcome to post these stories on your sites, in your newsletters, wherever you like, just drop us a line and let us know and you're good to go!

We can be reached at info@axiomnews.ca or
705 741-4421 ext. 28. It would be great to hear from you.

Open Disclosure
In the name of transparency we'd like to declare a
few things.

First, we are completely committed to the Democratic Workplaces Movement and will be constantly exploring the terrain for new ideas and new people to engage in the movement. We'll be circulating related coverage and commentary on a weekly basis. While this edition emphasizes workplace democracy, we will also be exploring strengths-based organization and individual development, meaning in work, governance structure, social mission/business and so on. In future editions we may include articles from our clients sites. Those stories might seem a bit out of place, but in time the connection will become clearer.

Second, we will be sharing what we've learned about the practise of Generative Corporate Journalism.  Advocacy groups, corporations and non-profits pay us to interview their stakeholders on a daily basis and publish the resulting stories on their inter- and intra-net sites.

Column three will be dedicated to exploring the idea of Generative Corporate Journalism - it is Our Pitch.

Our mission is to be the news agency of the world's most socially
generative organizations.  So until you all hire us, we'll just keep on giving, and after you hire us we'll give even more.
Do you have a story idea to share?
If you have stories or know of people we should be speaking with please be sure we hear from you.

DISCOVERING GJ
What would happen if there were a bunch of journalists in your workplace?
The answer to that question depends entirely on what kind of journalist you are
talking about.

If you are talking about practising organization-based, strengths-based journalism, the wonders will never cease.

What kind of power would be unleashed in a company if someone were asking
members of your team, every day, questions like:

· what excites you most about your work?
· what would you like to see more of?
· what can be done to make that happen?

What if that someone wrote a news story narrating the answers and posted it on your internet site within hours of the interview?

How long would it take for people to start learning from each other, connecting with each other, making a difference together?

The only way to find out for sure is to try it.

Designing questions to provoke brightness of the future thinking
For a generative journalist, asking a good question goes beyond the traditional 5 W's (of who, what, when, where and why) - it's a question that makes the interviewee think in a new way, or describe thoughts that maybe he or she has not yet voiced. Read More
