12th Anniversary Open House

rochester mp 02
Friday, March 12, 2010 we held an Open House to celebrate our 12th Anniversary at our local design studio at 301 Walnut Blvd.  Activities included the showing of a new conceptual city plan for the commercial district of Rochester, MI.  Also, Designhaus announced a free workshop scheduled for April to help homeowners capture "custom-designed" looking curb appeal for a very limited budget.  On attendance were local business people, developers, enfineers and political leaders.

We took the opportunity to also showcase some newly renovated spaces in the studio, some of which are actually constructed from artifacts found from the recent housing bubble bust!  new office pics banner 01We were extrordinarily pleased with the support from the community, considering our notifications for the event were performed exclusively with social media such as Facebook and texting.

gris art 01Local sculptor, Peter Griz attended and was featured in the gallery. His kinetic garden sculptures were a huge hit and were actually in motion due to some strategically placed fans.
Hospitals and Clinics

 Michigan Resnonance Imaging
mri rh 01In 2002, Designhaus was approached by Michigan Resonance Imaging to design a new MRI center.  the renovation converted 8,500 square feet of existing computer facility into an imaging center.  The existing facility provided many design challenges based upon existing conditions and budget constraints of $750,000.  mri rh 02Due to the technical requirements of the MRI unit, the placement within the facility was the starting point for the project.  Since 2002, we have installed two new units and have relocated 2 additional units into the facility.  During this time period, we have maintained a proactive posture in the design and provided the facility with design flexibility which allows growth and adaptation to the changing market conditions.

Mt. Clemens Regional Medical Center
The addition and renovation to Mt. Clemens Regional Medical Center was an exercise in coordination between two separate entities.  The goal was to provide a facility to MCRMC that would be leased and run by a second organization, Michigan Resonance Imaging.  The end result was an addition that met the design criteria of the hospital, and provided a state of the art MRI outpatient facility for the Michigan Resonance Imaging Corporation. mcrmc 01  Though small in size, the addition and renovation created various design challenges.  We designed a facility that tied into existing systems, while providing provisions for new and emerging technologies associated with MRI facilities.  In the beginning, Designhaus fostered a team environment that allowed all parties to be involved in the design and construction process.  The team approach kept an open line of communication and ultimately provided a project that was on time and within the $820,000 budget.

Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital
poh 01Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital of Pontiac, MI approached Designhaus to breathe new life into thier imaging department.  Primary issues involved intense knowlege of various imaging and x-ray equipment and the flow of staff and patients through the area.  Located in the basement, as many imaging departments are, this project started with a very bleak feel. poh 02
We chose bold, natural materials and patterns, along with horizontal accents.  "High tech with a sense of warmth" was the objective.  Patients must feel they are getting 21st century service, but also feel like they are in a space designed for the comfort of people.
