When entrepreneurial small business owners want a "leg up" for their start-up,  they often turn to a tried and true franchise brand.  Whatever their product, the new business is almost always held to a certain look and feel in terms of their architecture or interior design. 

Every franchise has different degrees of this requirement.  Obviously, Mcdonald's comes to mind on the farthest extreme.  More often, it is up to a firm like Designhaus to review the basic intents, corporate colors and layout strategies, then proceed to procure a design for franchisor approval. 

Our work with franchisees has helped us guide new franchisors develop their own standards for new start-up brands.  Caffeini's (featured here), Venice Italian Market and Kiddie Klub are a few that we have designed from location number one.

Other well know brands that Designhaus services regionally are Goddard Schools, Smart for Life, Seven-Eleven and Starbucks.

Caffeini's  Coffee House

As a complimenting amenity to student housing neighborhoods around the country, this new concept conceived by Designhaus for Campus Village Communities is called Caffieni's.

Toledo, Ohio is the first city to roll out this concept.  Shabby-Chic, clean and cozy are the adjectives describing this hip hang-out. Designhaus led the team of architects, coffee shop experts, graphic designers and suppliers as the entire concept from color to menus to furniture and much more were carefully chosen to create a cohesively casual experience.
 
GIANT Bikes

This hip little bike shop features a high ceiling with exposed trusses and good lighting.  The color palette is natural but eye-catching. Energizing the shopping experience for the active outdoor extreme athlete was the objective.  Using some basic guidelines from the corporate franchise office of Giant Bikes, Designhaus helped the owners of KLM re-invent their image, improve energy efficiency and bring the site up to current accessibility codes.
 
Hershey's Ice Cream

Stony Creek Ice Cream is a locally owned shop with brand loyalty to Hershey's.   It has a retro-1950's seating plan and colorful, modern feel.  Bright and open were the goals for these franchisee's of Hershey's.  This a a one-of-a-kind interior design, not limited by a strict corporate prototype for the space.  The products include italian ice, ice cream products and bulk candy.
