April Horse Fairs Huge Success!
|
|

What a blast the horse fairs were again this year. We had a booth at the Midwest Horse Fair in Madison WI and at the Minnesota Horse Expo. We met so many great people and got to hear stories of how others loved their new playground they created. This year we debuted our Horse Training Balls, our new Multi-Colored Cones and of course our Horse Playgrounds DVD.
Clinician and long time friend Ken McNabb helped promote our products in Madison as well. Thank-you Ken and everyone else who stopped by to learn about our company.

Why NOT Me?
Inspiration from Parelli Madison Event |
|
Lauren Barwick, Paralympic Medalist gave an unbelievable demonstration in Madison. Her whole attitude was inspirational to the audience. So many times we think we don't have time, we don't have the training, we don't have the talent, but to see what she has accomplished by changing her initial ATTITUDE from "WHY me?" to Why NOT me?" is amazing. She told her story and brought tears to peoples eyes.
You can read more about Lauren here.Laruen's Story

Whats Up With the New Cones?
|
|
Our new 15" cones are a little softer than our previous cones, have a wider base for more stability, better overall quality......and the best part.......because of the overwhelming response we were able to produce bigger quantities and pass the savings onto you.
These cones are fantastic for playing when you need to focus your horse (or yourself). Set up the cones and see if you can back your horse through them and stop on one color, then move sideways to another color. Possibilites are endless.
Horse having problems stepping on your new cones? Here is a great tip that we have found works every time and teaches the horse to respect those little cones. Decide on a pattern for your cones - such as lining them up to weave your horse through. Instead of using the cones, use your buckets of fun, then put the cones on top of the buckets. The buckets are heavy when filled with sand, your horse won't be able to knock them over and if he does hit one, it will hit back. Gradually remove one bucket at a time and set the cones on the ground. Your horse will never know the buckets are missing!
Remember, take good care of your cones - those lighter ones can fade if left in the sun. A good idea is if you cannot put them away, cover the light cones with the darker ones.
Stay tuned, next time we will have some great cone ideas for your playground and pattern work.

Product Review
Soy-Natural-E Supplement
|
| We like to share with our readers when we find products we feel are a good value. We have been feeding this product with amazing results - Cindy has seen a huge change in her horses, brighter coats, calmer AND much less Mare-I-Ness. Jenny Meyer writes for us:
Why Soy-Natural-E?
Approximately six years ago we had a scare when one of our yearlings became very ill with colic due to an impaction. This really made us take a hard look at our feeding program. At the time we were feeding a high quality grain feed at the recommended feeding ration but were not seeing much for results and noticed that we had a lot birds always in our pastures pecking at the manure piles. Upon closer inspection, we saw that there were large amounts of grain still in the feces of our horses. It was at that time that we decided to reduce the amount of grain ration we were giving our horses and look for a better alternative.
After much personal research and trial, we have found that with feeding more fat in our horses' diets and much less starches and sugars our horses are acting and looking better than ever. Since we have started top dressing Soy-Natural-E on our horses' rations, the results have been amazing! The most noticeable things we have seen are how calm they are, their strong hooves, shiny coats, and how overall healthy they look. They just shine and have a very healthy look to them all year-round.

A few years back, we purchased a Missouri Fox Trotter stallion. We had a pre-purchase exam done on this horse by a vet in the state that the horse was located. When the vet called, she recommended that we probably not consider this stallion as she could not guarantee that he would be fertile due to the emaciation that he was suffering from; he scored a body condition score of 2 to 3. We felt sorry for the horse and also saw that there was potential with him if we could get him back to good health and so we decided to take a chance on him and went ahead with the purchase. After he arrived here, we started him on Soy-Natural-E. In a very short time, we were seeing great results. This stallion is now the "poster child" for our product. We believe in the product and use it daily on our horses! The proof is in the horse!!!
What's the Difference?
Typical vegetable or corn oils found at your local grocery store have been refined with the use of chemicals. Bleach, solvents and deodorizers give these human consumption oils an odorless and crystal clear appearance but they also refine out all of the natural vitamins and antioxidants that are so important to the horse's diet. Due to the unique chemical-free process in which Soy-Natural-E is made, all of the natural fatty acids and nutrients are maintained. Because of the high levels of natural antioxidants (tocopherols), Soy-Natural-E is a very stable feed supplement with a long shelf life. Feeding Soy-Natural-E is easy; simply top-dress it on your horse's feed. For more information on the benefits of feeding fats, we encourage you to do some research. There is a lot of information out there on the internet and in print publications.

Play With the Horse You Have - Angel's Story
|
Think you need to sell your horse because you need a better one?
Angel didn't think so! Angel is a 4 year old TWH mare that is pacey and has a lateral canter. Not something a Level 3 student really wants to deal with. She is a great trail horse and a lot of fun to play with! I had the opportunity to purchase a fantastic little QH mare last year for my levels program and decided it was time to sell Angel. My first indication of "this is not a good idea" should have been the day the potential buyers showed up to try her out wearing flipflops & shorts! Why I let them purchase her is still a mystery to me! Thanks to all of the supportive people at the Parelli Madison Event that encouraged me to GO GET HER! Follow the link below to read the whole story, but....this story has a happy ending - photo on the left is Angel back home the morning after her 10 days of confusion with her new owners and the day after her fifth birthday. What a present for her, to be able to come back home!!

How to Use Our Toys to Help With Your Patterns
|
Zeke Zacharias is helping Bozo push the ball using his carrot sticks. This is our new Green & Black Soccer Ball. We were selling Equi-Spirit brand balls, and although they are a great product, we were experiencing too many backorder issues. We pride ourselves in great customer service and having to tell our customers there would be a 6 week backorder was not our way of doing business.
We found a great source for the same quality balls as the Equi-Spirit and have had nothing but success with them. We are always looking out for better manufacturers that can step up to the plate and provide products that we are proud to sell. Watch our web site for new cover colors!
All of the toys you can make with the Horse Playgrounds Volume I DVD are modular and portable. We look forward to sharing our ideas for weaving patterns and creating a fun question box. (Photo by Jenny Meyer, Cameron WI)
