Greetings!
The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and Governor Jack Markell are once again proclaiming that May is Mammography Month in Delaware. As the month of Mothers' Day, May is the perfect time to attend to the health of the women we love--our mothers, grandmothers, sisters, daughters, relatives, co-workers, and friends. Please join us and remind the women in your life to schedule their annual mammogram. The Tanger Outlets have partnered with DBCC on their initiative and will offer a FREE $10 gift card to all women who get a mammogram in May or June.
The American Cancer Society recommends that all women over the age of 40 receive an annual screening mammogram. DBCC is working to educate our community, advocate for screening and treatment, and remove financial, cultural and language barriers so that all women in Delaware in need of a mammogram can get one.
This month, some of our community partners are hosting events to raise awareness, educate the public, and help raise funds in the fight against breast cancer in Delaware. You might have already seen our supplement in the May issue of Delaware Today which highlights some great information about our programs and services (You can read the articles here). You can see our upcoming events at the left or view this printable calendar of all fundraising events in May.
And we hope you will join us on May 20 for our Third Annual DE-feet Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk. This event is a lot of fun and is raising money for a great cause. Scroll down to read more about it!
