Crossroads e-Newsletter
  April 2012
TopGreetings!

We had a wonderful time celebrating our new location in Scarborough, among other accomplishments, at the beginning of the month. Thank you to all who came out to Crossroads' Open House event. For the event, we created a couple of videos that show visually what Crossroads offers to clients. Please do take the time to watch them!

We are excited to be starting the Professional Men's Recovery Group this week at our Greater Portland Counseling Center in Scarborough. And, due to popular demand, we are running another free Friends & Family educational series. Visit our website for details or call 207.773.9931.

Thank you to all who were involved with our Open House event on April 10th at our Greater Portland Counseling Center facility in Scarborough.

The event celebrated our new headquarters and counseling center in Scarborough, expansion in Kennebunk, and recently added outpatient services for men. We are very proud of our work and had a wonderful time greeting our partners, making new contacts, and celebrating our accomplishments.

The evening was a great success in fostering and furthering our relationships with colleagues, political representatives, and other supporters in the greater Portland community. And, as a result of one of these new connections, Crossroads became a participant in HealthInfoNet the day after the Open House!

HealthInfoNet (HIN), a Maine organization, created a data exchange involving the sharing of electronic health records among medical providers, capturing health information for over 1.5 million Maine residents. Over the last four years, it has become a leader in the country for this vital work. Recently HIN was awarded SAMHSA funding to develop a pilot to incorporate behavioral health providers into this model. Crossroads is very fortunate to be one of the initial behavioral health participants.

A very special thanks to those who sponsored the event - Anderson-Watkins Insurance, The Corner Room, Gorham Savings Bank, Southern Maine Medical Center PrimeCare Physicians and Time4Printing.

New Videos Give a Feel for What Treatment at Crossroads is all About
During the planning of our recent Open House event, we decided it would be nice to create a few slideshows that show, visually, what Crossroads is all about. We can talk about our services endlessly. Sometimes, it's more powerful to see the environment in which we work with clients.

Teresa Bendokas-Heinfeld, our talented outpatient practice manager, put together two videos for our outpatient and our residential programs. If you've never visited Crossroads, they depict the safe, comfortable and welcoming environment we create for all of our clients. We hope you will take a moment to watch the videos.
