Crossroads for Women e-Newsletter

August 2010
TopGreetings!

Is it really almost September?! It must be, because many of us are gearing up for National Alcohol & Drug Addiction Recovery Month. There are lots of events happening all over the country. Check out what's happening here in Maine. Crossroads will be at the Walk for Recovery in Portland on September 11th. We'd also like to give a big thanks to our friends at Sappi's John Roberts site for a donation of about 250 books to our residential programs.

Reminder: Our new Managing Chronic Pain group will start on August 31st at our Kennebunk location. There's still time to get into the group. Call 207.467.3369 for more info.

Sappi Book Drive
The Community Connections Committee at the Sappi Fine Paper John Roberts site recently organized a book drive to benefit the residential programs of Crossroads for Women. The team had a goal of collecting 145 books from fellow employees and ended up surpassing that goal by more than 100!

The book drive reflects the commitment to sustainability by Sappi Fine Paper through supporting their community while also promoting the reuse of books.

The clients and staff at Crossroads for Women's Residential Rehab, CAMP and halfway house programs are thankful to have their libraries stocked with new books that women can enjoy as they start their road to recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.

Thanks, Sappi!
