The Crossroads for Women 1st Annual Online Auction Opens April 9th

Crossroads for Women Online Auction

We need your support to make our first
online auction fundraiser a success!

In honor of moms everywhere, Crossroads for Women will be auctioning off a number of fun and unique items to raise money for our nonprofit organization. The auction will run from April 9th until April 28th, giving everyone enough time to shop for mom and get items before Mother's Day. (Of course, we'll have items that everyone can enjoy, even if it's not for a mom!)

Whether you donate items for the auction or bid on items when the auction starts, your contribution will help women and their families start new, healthy and productive lives in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction as well as mental health struggles.

Here's how you can help:
Donate an item for the auction. (deadline is April 2nd)
We need items to add to our auction. If you have valuable merchandise, rare collectibles, original artwork, business or personal services, or access to unique events, we need your contribution today! Donate online or call Jen at 207.773.9931, ext. 128. Download a flyer that explains the benefits of becoming a donor.

Tell your friends about the auction.
Do you know someone who would be interested in supporting our mission of addressing substance abuse and mental health so that women and their families can lead healthy lives? Please help spread the news of the upcoming online auction so they can be part of the excitement. Refer a friend to our auction so friends, family members and colleagues can get involved.

Thank you in advance for your continued support!

New Outpatient Therapy Groups in Portland and Kennebunk
Crossroads for Women group roomCrossroads for Women continues to add new outpatient therapy groups to its mix. Here are two groups scheduled to start at the end of this month:

Friends and Family Group

The Friends and Family Group is an ongoing therapy group specifically for friends and family members that have loved ones struggling with drug and/or alcohol addiction. It is designed to offer support, options and a place to be themselves. Participants will be able to get the help they need for their situation and share trials and triumphs with others. Women and men are welcome to this group.

when: Mondays, 5:00pm - 6:30pm
counselor: Mary Ann Roy, PsyD

where: Crossroads for Women Outpatient Office, 66 Pearl Street, Suite 202, Portland

FMI: 207.773.9931 or email

Living with Depression and Anxiety
The Living with Depression and Anxiety group is an opportunity for those who suffer from depression and anxiety to share their experience, proving that the experience is not unique. Depression tends to isolate people, who may feel that no one else experiences or understands their pain. The group experience can give a sense of hope, as participants support each other to overcome the challenges of depression and anxiety. Participants will help each other recognize, accept and cope with feelings of depression and/or anxiety and develop healthy cognitive patterns about self and the world that will lead to alleviation of symptoms.

where: Kennebunk Counseling Center, 2 Livewell Drive, Suite 202, Kennebunk

when: Tuesdays, 5:30pm - 7:00pm
counselor: Kathleen Hebden, LCSW

FMI: 207.467.3369 or email

Call or email now to reserve a spot in either group!

Senior Staff and Clients Connect over Roasted Tomato Basil Soup

Nikki Oliver, program manager over at Crossroads for Women's halfway house, recently invited senior managers over for lunch with clients. Our executive director, chief of operations, director of administrative services, clinical director and communications specialist make the short trek to the house and enjoyed some yummy soup and sandwiches (made by Nikki). Clients got to meet the women running the organization. And the senior managers got to hear feedback about the programs and services at Crossroads for Women from the women who experience them.
