MARCH MADNESS
I know that many of you think of Basketball in March. I think of the coming of Spring and the birthdays of two of my children. This March is also special for all of the exciting selections that we are making for the Design Home. We have selected the cabinets from Century Design and just last Friday we selected some fabulous marble and granite from Majesty Marble. We are thrilled to be working again with Bob Wagners for the tile, with Floors USA for the hardwood and carpet and with Fergusons for sinks, tubs, toilets and faucets. Everything is coming together so beautifully for this charming home. I love working with such wonderful individual clients as well and I truly enjoy working with every one of you. Finally, I am delighted to announce the addition of a talented new designer to my staff: Her name is Tracy DelGrippo and I can't wait for you to meet her.
DINING IN STYLE
The dining area in many homes is often one of the first rooms that you see when you are a guest. It is important that it portray the message that you want to send to your friends and family. This is a room for special occasions and special people. We are intent on helping our clients make this room a place that reflects their own style and personality.
When we first saw this dining room, it was evident that our client had excellent taste. The fabrics in the room were rich and elegant. The furniture was lovely, and yet, it didn't reflect the warm personality of this homeowner.
One of the first things that we addressed were the window treatments. The fabrics blended beautifully. We took the outside gold silk fabric and had a relaxed roman shade made for the center of the window. Although the panels remained the same, they took on a whole new look.
By adding a fabulous gold grasscloth to the walls, the room had a new glow. And then it was a matter of choosing the right artwork and mirrors. Two elegant floor lamps balanced out the long wall by the buffet. The candles and red flowers added the "pop" of color that this room needed.
Next we took the seats and recovered them with two fabrics that joined the red and gold to the center of the room. This is now a room that gives this family a very special place to entertain in style and comfort. It is all in the details. Bon appétit!!
