* Now you see them - now you don't. NASA loses the original Moon Landing videos - and then finds or restores (some of) them again. The historic Apollo video tapes have recently been found again, according to news reports and a press release on the NASA website.... For all the importance of the first Moon landing in 1969, somehow NASA claims that the original high-quality video tapes went missing. ...The tapes aren't lost, says the NASA official in charge of the search. But he doesn't know where they are.
How could NASA lose vital documentation from one of the most important events in human history? Wouldn't NASA scientists have been dying to pour over these high quality images and investigate every aspect of the lunar surface in the images? Now comes the even more bizarre news today from this Reuters report. The original recordings of the first humans landing on the moon 40 years ago were erased and re-used. They were part of a batch of 200,000 tapes that were degaussed - magnetically erased - and re-used to save money. What's going on here? NASA loses the tapes of one of the most important landmark events in human history. Then they find them, but parts have been erased to save money. How could anyone allow these historic tapes to be erased to save money? How could they even have been lost in the first place?
Hundreds of military and government witnesses have gone on record claiming a major cover-up around UFOs. Could the moon landing video tapes have contained some images with UFOs or other images that they didn't want the public to see?

* China Alarmed by U.S. Money Printing. From the GATA (Gold Anti-Trust Committee) newsletter. The article quotes Cheng Siwei, a high official in the Chinese government, at a finance meeting in Italy, recently)
Mr Cheng said China had lost 20 million jobs as a result of the crisis and advised the West not to over-estimate the role that his country can play in global recovery.
China's task is to switch from export dependency to internal consumption, but that requires a "change in the ideology of the Chinese people" to discourage excess saving. "This is very difficult."
Mr Cheng said the root cause of global imbalances is spending patterns in the US (and UK) and China.
"The US spends tomorrow's money today," he said. "We Chinese spend today's money tomorrow. That's why we have this financial crisis."
Yet the consequences are not symmetric.
"He who goes borrowing, goes sorrowing," said Mr Cheng.
It was a quote from US founding father Benjamin Franklin.

* A warning from James Hansen - America's foremost climate scientist Hansen is sharply critical of the climate bill currently before Congress...climate change is happening even faster than scientists predicted...We're in danger of shooting up to a much higher temperature, comparable to the warmings that caused mass extinctions in the past. If we do, we will lose all the ice in the Arctic, and the permafrost will melt, releasing even more greenhouse gases. Once that happens, the dynamics of the climate system will take over - and then we're out of luck. ...The crazy thing about "cap and trade" is that it actually locks in the approval of new coal-fired plants...The alternative to cap and trade is to put a price on carbon...emissions by taxing them directly.
