 Thought for the Day:

Christ has no hands now but yours.

YOURS ARE THE HANDS OF CHRIST:

THE PRACTICE OF FAITH

Sometimes we want to spiritualize our faith. What is important is to practice our faith as we take our faith out into the world and follow in the steps of Jesus. As we contemplate all that Jesus did with his hands, we are reminded to get busy with our own hands and feet and love of Christ wherever we are.

This Week:  "Serving and Sending Hands"

John 21.15-19

We begin our sermon series on the Hands of Christ with Serving Hands.
We all know that just showing up to church on Sunday is not enough to live the Christian life. We are called by Christ to do more with our faith in him. The letter of James in the Bible makes it pretty clear that faith without works is dead. Join us this week as we discern in God's word what it means when Jesus told Peter to "feed my sheep." We are all sheep of God's pasture, and as Christians we are called to feed the other sheep of God's pasture, whoever they may be.

This Sunday will also be a special occasion because Deborah Thompson, Conference coordinator for missions will join us in worship to award our own Holly Morse with the Thelma W. Gregg missions award. We will have additional guests with us from Northcott Neighborhood House, as Holly chose them as the recipients of the financial gift that accompanies the award.

We are at the start of the fall and everything is in full swing this week around the church. Invite friends and neighbors to join us. See you is worship.
