 Thought for the Day:

"The most important thing a father can do for his children is to love their mother."
- Rev. Theodore Hesburgh

This Weekend, June 18/19
Honoring Dads on Fathers Day
Matthew 1:16,19

On this Fathers Day Sunday, we will look at what it means to be a Godly father. Some folks, like myself, did not grow up with a father who was a positive role model. But that is not to say that I did not have a strong fatherly figure in my life. Even if one is not a father, one can be a positive influence and role model in another's life. Join us as we will look at the biblical model of a Godly father.

Also this Sunday we celebrate church camp as we welcome back our children and high schoolers from camp Lucerne.

Who will you bring to church with you this Sunday?

Pastor Wiley Gladney

The Saturday Men's Ministry will meet for the final time this church year on Saturday morning June 18 - fellowship beginning at 7 am, a hot breakfast at 7:30 am - followed by an opportunity to learn more about Buddhism.

Continuing the SMM interest in religions of the world , Leslie Shippee from the Shambhala Center on N. Oakland Ave will join us to talk about the very first teachings of Buddhism which are the basis for the entire view of Buddhism - including paths to enlightenment while creating and maintaining a good society. Her presentation will also include how the religion has expanded and diversified as well as how it is accepted here in the west. This is an opportunity to better understand people of the world through their religion.
