This Sunday, April 3 the children in roational sunday school will continue their unit on the "Symbols of Holy Week" with a special lesson on SERVICE & GIVING led by Mrs. Aechbacher in Fellowship Hall at both 9 & 10:30 a.m.  The children are learning all about the last week of Jesus life through the use of symbols (palm branch, coins, praying hands, heart, purple robe, crown of thorns, cup & bread, nails, cross, towel and stone).

All Church Potluck - SUNDAY 5-7pm

It's not too late to sign up (or just show up!) for the All Church Potluck THIS Sunday, April 3 in Fellowship Hall from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  Bring a dish to share.  Enjoy a wonderful meal with your church family.  Fund for everyone!  There will be special crafts, music, dramas and other engaging activities for the whole family!  Childcare will be available.

Mission at Home - THIS Saturday
from 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM

Much help is needed to paint the Glen Ave. staircase in preparation for a beautiful mural that is planned!

Additional painting and handy jobs are needed throughout the building.  PLEASE come for the day, a few hours or any time you can spare!  A light breakfast will be served at 8 am and lunch will be provided for all volunteers. RSVP to Dick Steinmetz at rsteinmetz@wi.rr.com.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

April 10 - No Sunday school - All children are invited to attend worship with parents and see the Children's Musical "Freedom Fanatics"  (childcare in Rooms 211 & 212 available)

April 17 - PALM SUNDAY - children & family will be invited to participate in Palm Sunday processional (meet in Fellowship Hall at 8:30 or 10).  Following Children's message SHEPHERD SUNDAY in classrooms.

April 24 - EASTER SUNDAY - celebration in Fellowship Hall followed by Easter Egg hunt at both 10:30 and 12 noon

May 1 - New Rotation starts "Jesus and the Children"

May 8 - No Sunday school - Youth & Children led worship services.  (Childcare available)

June 19 - Summer Sunday school starts "Super Hero Summer" (Heroes of the Bible)

July 18-22 - Vacation Bible School - mark your calendar!


GIVING & SERVICE:

BRING IN THOSE QUARTERS! Don't forget to fill up those mini M&M containers with quarters and RETURN to Sunday school for our collection for "Feed Our Starving Children".  Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit Christian organization committed to feeding God's starving children hungry in body and spirit.  Our church will be sponsoring a food packing event the end of April - the quarters will help us purchase supplies.

FOOD COLLECTION - SPRING GOAL 300!  The Sunday school children have set a goal of 300 donated food items by the end of the June 2011. Have your child bring their food donations to Fellowship Hall after the Children's message.

CHILDREN'S OFFERING - The Children's Sunday school offerings this spring will go to UNICEF to help the children of Japan who face an especially difficult path as Japan comes to terms with the devastation from the earthquake and tsunami.

EASTER EGGS & CANDY NEEDED - Donations of fillable plastic Easter eggs and individually wrapped candy or small treats are needed for our "Eggs-traordinary Easter Egg Hunt" on Easter Sunday.  Drop off donations in the church office.  Join us on Wednesday, April 6 & 13 in Fellowship Hall from 6:30-7:30 p.m. to fill Easter eggs.

SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL - Adult and youth volunteers are needed for the summer in Sunday school. This is a great opportunity to serve as a family or for one or more Sundays. Contact Dana Saxton for more information at dsaxton@umcwfb.org
