Letting Go and Letting God In!

Matthew 19:16-26

This weekend we have the pleasure of hearing our brother Eric Rose, Director of Student Ministries, give the message at all four services. His sermon is entitled Letting Go and Letting God In, and his scripture is taken from Mathew 19:16-26.

How many times do we find ourselves on the verge of taking a big step in our faith journey, but can't seem to let go of whatever it is that we are holding on to. We find those things in our life are hindering us from walking out on that board and diving right in to what God is leading us to. We let fear or doubt get in the way of being a good and faithful disciple. Isn't it time to let go and let God in?

Please invite a friend to join you in worship as we come to a close of our regular sermon series and get ready to embark on our 29 days of giving. We begin Lent with our 7:30 Ash Wednesday Service and then we kick off our 2011 stewardship emphasis on March 13 with Cami Walker in worship Sunday morning and returning that evening for a community workshop. See the article below for more information on our 29 Days of Giving campaign.

God Bless and see you in worship.

Taize Prayer Service

Friday, March 4, 7:30 PM

The Taizé movement was established in 1940 in a small village in Burgundy, France by Brother Roger as an ecumenical monastic community.

The heart of Taizé prayer reflects a quiet, peaceful receptivity before God. Musicians, singers, and liturgists lead with a minimal sense of being in the spotlight, in that they are either not seen in center front, or are scattered throughout the assembly. In this way, individuals feel a more direct communion with God. The Taizé prayer, "Between ourselves and God there is no between" echoes this spirit and symbolism.
