 Thought for the Day:

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle

 MIRACLES:  GOD'S ACTS OF WONDER

                          A POWER THAT TRANSFORMS LIVES

                           John 20.19-22; 2 Corinthians 5.17

In his book, Troublesome Bible Passages, vol. 2, Randy Cross defines a miracle as ...nothing more nor less than the in-breaking of God's love and power in this world.  Sometimes it happens through what we normally call miraculous occurrences, but it is not limited in any way to those supernatural events.  It occurs anytime our lives are blessed with the assurance of God's love.

It was a transformational moment for Mary Magdalene has she met the risen Christ in the garden.  I think it was one for the Roman soldier whose son was healed, and the woman who was bent over and for the little boy who fed 5000 with his lunches.

When a miracle happens in someone's life, they often find new purpose and meaning.  They receive a passion that is contagious in their desire to influence the lives of others.  Come and share in worship with us as finish looking at some of the miracles in scripture and in our own lives.

I am looking forward to worship this weekend.  I hope you are too.
See you in church!

Souper bowl of caring Our youth are joining youth from around the world to support area food pantries.  Following each of the worship services this Super Bowl Weekend, our youth will collect loose change, bills and checks. There will also be containers  in the Jones Narthex to receive non-perishable food items.  Any checks that are made out can be made out to the church "UMCWFB,"  marked Souper Bowl in the memo line.

Super Bowl Weekend

We are going to have some fun this weekend.  Show your support to the Packers and wear your favorite Packer clothes when you come to worship this weekend.  During our fellowship times before and after the services we will have special refreshments. If you want to bring something to add to the table in the Jones Narthex, feel free to join in.   Remember, if you have plans to go out of town on Sunday, there is worship on Saturday evening.

TAIZE WORSHIP

Friday, February 4
7:30 PM, Sanctuary
The heart of Taizé prayer reflects a quiet, peaceful receptivity before God. Musicians, singers, and liturgists lead with a minimal sense of being in the spotlight, in that they are either not seen in center front, or are scattered throughout the assembly.

Walk the prayer Labyrinth downstairs in fellowship hall before the service beginning at 6:00.
