Thought for the Day:

If we have loved well while we were alive, there is life after death here- our love will go on for generations.

Sept 25/26: Jesus LOVES
Mathew 22:35-40
Saturday at 5:00 pm
Sunday at 8:00, 9:00, and 10:30 am

I think Jesus knew how hard it was to remember hundreds of laws and so he summarized all of the laws in these two commandments, "love God and love your neighbor."  When Jesus shared these words, he would have been familiar with verses from the book of Deuteronomy (6.6-9) that followed this teaching.  These words represent instructions that we must teach this commandment of Love to our children through all the aspects of our lives.

The heart of God's law is loving God and loving others.  Jesus teaches us that this love is to consume us as we live our lives.  This weekend in worship we are going to look at Jesus' priority of LOVE by looking at mercy, forgiveness and loving others as God loves them and us.

I look forward to seeing you this weekend.  I hope you will take a moment to invite someone to come with you.

See you in worship!

Whitefish Bay to Host Bridal Walk
Saturday, September  25, 1-3 pm
Jones Narthex

Our Wedding Ministry Team had a great idea!  When they heard that the Whitefish Bay Business Association was hosting a Bridal Walk this coming weekend through Twitter, they wondered if there was a place for us.  Contact was made and we are going to be a part of the community event this Sat afternoon.

Our congregation is open to sharing in this important time of couples lives whether they are members of the church or not.  It is a great opportunity to introduce non-member couples to the congregation and help them to reflect on the presence of Christ in their lives as they enter into this covenant.

Stop by sometime this afternoon, or let those you know who are thinking about getting married to check us out.  There will be punch, wedding guidebooks and someone from the Team to answer questions.
