Save the Date

On Sept. 15, Fairfax Futures will host its second annual School Readiness Leadership Forum.

This year, the forum will have a regional focus, taking a look at what Virginia, Maryland and D.C. are doing to support young children's school readiness.

More than 150 elected officials and leaders from business, government and education are expected to attend. Speakers will include Virginia Secretary of Education Thomas Morris, Maryland State Superintendent of Schools Nancy Grasmick and District of Columbia State Superintendent of Education Deborah Gist.

Sandbox Investment

The program will include a conversation with David Kirp, author of "The Sandbox Investment." Drawing from cutting edge research in economics,  neuroscience and genetics, Kirp shows that high quality preschool is one of the best investments a society can make.

For the second year, the School Readiness Leadership Forum is being underwritten by a generous grant from Capital One, a Principal's Circle sponsor of the School Readiness Network.

All business members of the School Readiness Network will be recognized in the program.
