Our new gymnasium has been named the Vaughan
Alumni Gymnasium, in honor of Robert and
Janet Kendall Vaughan, both TA '53. Janet and Robert have been loyal supporters of TA for over
a half-century, and we are delighted to
memorialize their contributions.

In this issue we offer an update on the search for a new Head of School. See the message from Faith Alexandre, President, TA Board of Trustees. We once again offer the column titled Alumni Faces to reconnect you with classmates and friends of old. Panther Pairings continues with Panther Cubs as a sidebar to keep you abreast of the latest news of alumni weddings and births. Upcoming Events offers a look at exciting chances to experience life at TA; don't miss the opportunity to recycle you holiday tree as part of the TAAA bonfire on December 30. In Memoriam pays tribute to some of our departed alumni. Take pleasure knowing Donald's Bench is once again back on campus. Celebrate with the Division III Cross Country Champion, Zach Chatot '14, and don't miss the opportunity to get your Woods Trail Shirt before they are gone. Of course it is never too early to think Reunion, so don't miss the sidebar to see if your class already has started planning. As always, you can test your campus knowledge with TA Trivia. We're asking for your help, too. The Annual Fund request will arrive by mail soon, and we hope you'll help us reach our goal. | HEAD of SCHOOL SEARCH UPDATE | |
The Thetford Academy Board of Trustees has chosen to reopen the search for a new Head of School. Following the candidates' visits to the school, which included extensive participation by faculty, staff and students as well as parents and other community members, the Trustees have decided that while both finalists are impressive
educators neither has the right combination of skills and experience to be selected as our new Head of School at this time.
The search will be reopened immediately. The Board is confident that there is ample time to continue our search in a thoughtful and thorough way, with a new Head of School identified and appointed to assume leadership of Thetford Academy next summer as we enter our 194th year.

THE BENCH IS BACK | |
The bench given by the Class of 1991 in memory of their late classmate Donald LaPierre has found a new home on the lawn in front of the Vaughan Alumni Gymnasium. The bench was safely kept in storage during the reovation of Anderson Hall, and we are delighted to have it back on campus again. |

| CONGRATULATIONS TO A CHAMPION | |
Zachary Chatot '14 won the Boys' Vermont State Cross Country Division III Championship at the October 29 race on the Dan Grossman Woods Trail in Thetford. Zach led the pack with a time of 18 minutes 5 seconds, almost 45 seconds ahead of his closest competitor.
We're proud of you, Zach! Go Panthers!
Update: Zach ran in the New England Championship Race on November 14, and he covered the course in 17:20 for a 126th place finish among 275 runners. Congratulations! |

Get them while you can! We have two styles of Woods Trail shirts for sale. The green 2011 shirt was created for the 21st meet held this past October. It's available in a variety of adult sizes (no Small), and we'll mail it to you for $21.00, postage included. The white 2009 shirt commemorates the 19th meet, held during the construction and renovation. The 2009 shirt is available in child's medium and large and adult's small, and we'll send this one to you for $12.00, postage included.
