All Parts are not Equal...

What should you know about the parts to be repaired or replaced on your vehicle?

Parts are classified in 3 categories.

New Auto Parts - These parts are generally made to original manufacturer's specifications, either by the vehicle manufacturer or an independent company. At Alan Cox Automotive we use original equipment parts. If aftermarket parts are used on your vehicle, you will be notified.

Remanufactured, Rebuilt and Reconditioned Parts - These terms generally are interchangeable. These parts have been restored to a sound working condition. A transmission is an example of a remanufactured part. Other examples include alternators and power steering racks.

Salvage parts - These are used parts taken from another vehicle without alteration. Salvage or used parts may be the only source for certain items on older vehicles. Usually there is no warranty on used parts.

Ask Nick if you have any questions about the parts used on your vehicle.

Outdoor Burning Ban Returns until September

FireThe annual outdoor burning ban is in effect for Cobb and Cherokee counties and much of north Georgia.

The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has issued a ban on open burning through September 30. Fifty-four Georgia counties are affected. During the ban, no one may burn leaves, tree limbs or other yard waste, forest land or use air curtain destructors for commercial burning. Recreational fires and bonfires are allowed under certain circumstances and restrictions. Further details are available at cobbfire.org or by calling 770-528-8310.
Save Money on Maintanence instead of Expensive Repairs

It is important to keep your vehicle well-maintained. Maintenance costs less than repairs.
  • Change the oil regularly - every 3,000 miles - have all fluid levels checked.
  • Repair and replace brakes when needed - Safety comes first.
  • Replace tires when needed. Tires keep your vehicle on the road. Regular tire rotation and balance with proper air pressure increases your gas mileage.

Remember:  Maintenance cost less than repairs.  Maintenance can be scheduled.  Repairs and breakdowns never happen at a convenient time.
Drive Safely,
