Governor Palin visits Haines & Skagway
"It was a true pleasure to visit some of the most beautiful communities in Alaska," Governor Palin said. "I appreciate the warm welcome and hospitality that I received from the local residents."
On
April 29, 2009, Governor Sarah Palin today rode the M/V LeConte from
Haines to Skagway. During her multi-purpose trip in the Upper Lynn
Canal, the governor met with members of the community, veterans and
students. Haines Mayor Jan Hill and Southeast Conference Energy Coordinator Robert Venables escorted the governor on a city tour and discussed community projects. While in Haines, Governor Palin was joined by veterans at Lookout Park for the signing of Senate Bill 89.
