Orange equipping Colombian hospital for launch of an innovative branch
Orange Healthcare
The San Vicente de Paul hospital, a non-profit private institution in Colombia, has chosen Orange to integrate and deliver communication services in a new branch comprising 12 specialized services, inaugurated last month. The hospital's goal is to become a recognized international center of excellence in the delivery of highly complex health services, such as transplants.

Orange are providing them with an innovative real-time hospital asset and resource tracking service, based on radio frequency identification technology (RFID). This system is used for wheelchairs and other portable tools, as well as hospital staff who have RFID tags in their badges. More specifically, this machine-to-machine solution makes it possible to immediately determine the location of key surgeons and specialists within the hospital.

In addition to delivering, integrating and managing the hospital's overall infrastructure, Orange are also managing the hospital's data center solutions, including an application for storing confidential patient information, developed especially for this project.

Orange are also providing a nurse-call system based on cloud IP telephony. This service brings the patient and nurse closer together, establishing immediate telephone communication with a nurse to efficiently facilitate the patient's request.

Meet Orange Healthcare representatives at Med-e-Tel 2012 and hear more about their activities during the 2nd edition of the Global eHealth Strategies symposium at Med-e-Tel 2012.
