A MESSAGE FROM STUART MOONEY "As I am sure that you are aware, the world is going through some serious growing pains right now. It is gradually moving towards Oneness. But, in order to achieve this, man's sense of a separate identity has to be overcome. Nature is forcing the situation on a number of fronts, including, energy, the economy, terrorism, health, politics and religion. It is forcing us to cooperate (to act as unified whole) rather than a bunch of fragmented parts pitted against each other. Nature is showing us the truth that our sense of separation is the cause of our suffering. I believe that the ultimate source of man's transformation will occur through a shift in the way that the brain processes information from the "outside/inside world". Two things must shift. First, the Objects of Perception, that is, thoughts, people, trees, beliefs, notions, perceptions, etc., must become indistinguishable from our own personal sense of Self. Second, the sense of past and future must become merged into a "Present Moment" experience. The end result is being Here and Now and One with everything, everywhere." |

Welcome to the American Buddha Newsletter for December 2008. This Month, I will be addressing a wide range of subjects including the spiritual basis of the current economic crisis, emotional unraveling, the significance of Obama, personal destiny, the nature of living and, finally, the nature of bliss. The American Buddha was created as a vehicle to dispense information regarding the true nature of the Awakened experience and its practical benefits in the modern world. The American Buddha Programs were created as a resource for those in need of counseling or healing on all levels; physical, emotional, and spiritual.

GENERAL SPIRITUAL QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS Q) Can I change my destiny through my own personal efforts? A) Let me be very clear about this. Your destiny is a rut that you cannot get yourself out of no matter how much effort you put into it. Who you are is a very old construct that is both karmic and genetic. Who you are is also vital to the overall scheme of things. No life anywhere could exist without you being exactly who you are and exactly where you are, at this moment. Now, the prevailing notion among spiritual seekers is that Enlightenment is going to change your destiny into something better than it already is, but it just isn't true. The Zen Buddhists have this saying that you, "Carry water and chop wood" before Enlightenment and that you "Carry water and chop wood" after Enlightenment. It is a profound truth. So, if your destiny doesn't change; what is it that changes? Does anything change at all in your life after your Enlightenment? Yes! How you see yourself does change but, again, what you do with your life does not change. What changes is that, at a very deep level, you finally accept your "uniqueness". You accept your own unique brand of "goofiness". And in doing so, you also accept everyone's "goofiness". You spontaneously begin to live "what is". You begin to see that you are the most innocuous tiny sliver of life in this incredible dance that we call creation. And, at the same time, you see that this tiny sliver of "youness" is universal in its proportions. There is a sense of Oneness. There is a sense of simultaneously existing as Created, Creator, and Creation. In this state of experience, there is not much interest in changing your destiny into some other minor destiny because you are already living the destiny of destinies.

Q) What is the true nature of life? A) It is challenging to understand the nature of life. Life passes us by so quickly. In a moment, we are old and it is gone. What is gone? Experiences and impressions are gone. They are imbedded in the brain somewhere. Living and life are always changing. This is true. But it is all essentially the same. The process is the same. We look around but we see only the inside of our heads. We are miles away from true experience and it all seems to blend into one long dream sequence. Then a shocking event happens in our life and we momentarily awaken. We are thrust into the now and we are terrified. We are thrust into a non-linear, non-logical, notion-less reality where our thinking mechanism has become disabled. We are vulnerable as newborns. This is the moment of Transcendence. This is the moment where Grace can infuse and bring us to a new and shifted reality. What is required is innocence, faith and surrender. The poorly educated indigenous people of the world seem to have a lock on this. Tell them to jump and they jump. That's it. On the other hand, we "educated" westerners think. We doubt. We analyze and we compare. What is up with us? A thing is just a thing. It requires no embellishment to be itself. It is, right from the start. But we don't allow existence to exist without our special stamp of approval. We simply take what is and we put our subjective distortion on it. What we end up with is a life of symbols. It is safe but it is also stifling. It is a life devoid of living. It is just a warmed over feeling-less existence. Our cultures reinforce this. We end up passing it to our children. Just stand on a busy street corner sometime and simply look at the faces passing by. No one is there. Everyone is somewhere else in their heads. That somewhere else is not real. Only the experience of the street corner is real. There is no other truth at that moment but the street corner. Live it. What else is there?

Q) Could you describe the state of "bliss" that the Gurus talk about? A) Bliss exists, in every moment, in a place in our experience that I like to refer to as the "ground state". The "ground state" of every moment is filled with pure and complete ecstasy. So, what is this 'ground state"? The "ground state" is our primordial state. It is far beyond the incessant chatter of the mind. When the mind ceases, then the primordial moment shines as it is and one can sense the exquisite truth of life. And the truth of life is an extraordinarily intense state of bliss. At the ground state level, the joy of each moment becomes so intense that one could be easily swept away into the Divine. We have all seen the Cosmic Beings go into this ecstatic "swept away" state and we have all experienced the power that is released from it. The direct experience of the truth of the moment is physiologically overwhelming. That is, the degree of sensory stimulation is so profound that the body must "build up a tolerance to it". If one just fell into this ground state spontaneously, I doubt that it could be sustained for very long. Every nerve of an unprepared body would simply burn up. The "ground state' contains a most profound state of silence. But this silence is not empty or blank or boring like mental silence. Rather, this silence is filled with joy, bliss, knowledge, love, truth and fullness. It is a silence containing the light of Divine action within it. All of our activity has its source in this "active silence" which exists "beyond the thinking process". But usually our nervous systems are too fatigued to experience this "active silence". This is because the thinking process drains our ability to experience the "ground state. You see, the human nervous system is like a battery. Each night we charge it up for the next day's activity. Each day we discharge our battery through the thinking process because each thought that we have corresponds to an electrical discharge of energy from our battery. Science tells us that the average person has about 70,000 thoughts each day. That means 70,000 separate discharges of energy from our nervous system "battery" takes place each day. Because of this, there is little energy left for the average person to directly experience the "ground state" that lies beyond thinking. This is because the direct experience of the profound silence of the "ground state" requires an alert, fully-charged, nervous system. The key to being able to experience the bliss of the "ground state" is to learn how to lessen our mental activity. In order to do this, we must learn how to innocently "feel" what we are experiencing rather than trying to "mentally think about our experiences". Feeling dissipates thinking because feeling is just the thoughtless awareness of the experience of the five senses. Feeling is non-judgmental. Feeling is neutral. Feeling is just the direct experience of the ever-changing, moment to moment, landscape of our senses.
Q) Could you please address the current economic crisis because it is on everyone's mind these days? A) What is the cause of the crisis? It's simple! THE VALUE OF MATTER HAS SUDDENLY AND RAPIDLY DROPPED. Think about it. The value of matter in the form of goods, services, land, and housing, etc., has been going up rapidly in recent years. Now, the value that we place on matter is an agreed upon value. That is, this value is a PERCEIVED value that we all agree to place on the matter that we desire. In recent years, our perception of the value of matter has gone up rapidly. We began to value it more than we used to. Why? It is because our egos (our greed) had become much stronger in all of us in recent years and our egos made us crave the matter more. Matter began to look more solid, more real and more charming. And this made us more willing to invest more of our "green energy", our money, into the matter so that we could obtain what we desired. Simply stated, our egos made us misperceive and overvalue matter. So, what has happened? What caused the rapid devaluation of matter? The reason is that more Divine Light is penetrating into the earth plane, now, and it is making matter less solid, less dense, less heavy and therefore less "valuable". Another way of looking at it is that the speed of matter is gradually accelerating. It is beginning to move towards the speed of light. This, in turn, causes the matter to have less of an impact on our nervous systems and this causes us to place less value on it. In conclusion, this current economic crisis can be seen in a more positive light. To me, it is just an indication that we are well on our way to the realization of a GOLDEN AGE where the Divine Light will fully permeate all matter. In this Light, matter will be seen in its full value. Matter will be seen as Divine Light. Q) I feel myself unraveling with the economic turns in the world these days. Is there is anything to do to protect myself? A) It would be good for you to feel what is going on in your personal environment right Now. The Now, right now, is simply filled with unraveling for everyone, everywhere. This is because we have spent decades "raveling" things up. To me, raveling is just another name for unconscious action. The current "unraveling" is happening because our culture is suddenly becoming conscious of all the stuff that we've been "raveling". It's healthy and necessary. Remember, being in the Now does not mean being in a silent space. Being in the Now is just awareness of what is in your present experience. The experience may be silent or it may be chaotic. They are both equal in God's eyes. I experience the same stuff that you do. But, for some reason, in my nervous system, the stuff gets experienced and then it just disappears without a trace. Hang in there. The Divine will give you clarity in these troubled times. Q) Could you say a few words about the election of Barack Obama? A) Much has already been said about the election of Obama so I'll just add this. The name "Obama" seems unusually close the Sanskrit sounds "Om Brahma". And I might also point out that in the Sanskrit language, the sound of a word and its corresponding physical form are considered one and the same. I'll leave it up to you to figure out the full significance of the sounds "Om Brahma". Suffice it to say that it is auspicious.

AMERICAN BUDDHA ATTRACTION C.D. Those of you who are familiar with my workshops know that I teach a very powerful technique to attract relationships and material success. This technique is based on an ages old secret spiritual knowledge regarding the nature of the attractive force produced between two celestial bodies. This knowledge was considered to be so powerful, that the ancient yogis never made it available to the general public. But the time is now right to utilize this power in a proper manner for the benefit of all of humanity. Many of you have requested the American Buddha Attraction Technique and I have decided to record a studio version of it.
AMERICAN BUDDHA BOOK The "American Buddha" Book in now available in e-book form at a special price. American Buddha was written to help shift the reader into an Awakened Consciousness. American Buddha literally means "Practical Awakening". American Buddha is a state of being, where one is able to enjoy the ancient revelatory consciousness of a Buddha or a Christ, while living comfortably in the modern world. American Buddha was written in the form of a Divine dialogue between a teacher and his students. There are many aspects of the Awakened experience that are being made available to the reader for the first time in this book. On the deepest level, American Buddha is simply your Soul speaking to it self. The words are just a cover. The words are there just to pacify your mind. It is not the words; rather, it is the state that they will bring you to that is important. These words are a kind of gateway. There is a silence associated with them that is significant. If they are read, just know that you will gain a foothold in the area beyond your mind. You will come to know your Soul intimately. You will come to know your inmost Self. You will taste eternity. You will gradually awaken from a million lifetimes of sleep and you will know your Divinity. Order the American Buddha e-book today at americanbuddha.net. Look for the much anticipated..... American Buddha Two..... in bookstores February 2009. |
Technique of the Month: The "AH" Technique The "Ah" sound is the health sound. It is pure life giving energy. Use it to heal. Here's how. Close your eyes. Put
attention at the base of the spine. Imagine a bright light there. Think
"Ah" as the faintest sound within this light. You could do this for 5 minutes. Now imagine "Ah" and the bright light gradually filling your entire body. You are filled with healing "Ah" light now. Using your right palm, lay your hand on the affected area. Ask the "Ah" sound to provide you with the Grace to heal. Now allow
the "Ah" light to pass through you. This technique is very powerful.
The effect is an automatic reflex. You are not involved in the process.
Dis-ease is just the lack of "Ah" light.
