Whistler, BC - September 10, 2009 -
GayWhistler, the executive producers of the 2010 Pride House in Whistler, working with a local Whistler Graphic Artist, unveil the artwork that will represent the historic gay pavilion February 8th through to March 21st, 2010.

Local artist, Catherine Pulleyblank, was commissioned to create a logo for Pride House that would embody the spirit of the pavilion that celebrates diversity, embraces inclusiveness and creates an opportunity for dialogue on homophobia.  Inspired by the paintings of Cori Ross, the logo makes use of simple lines and bold colors to embody the Sea to Sky corridor while conveying the spirit of celebrating the diversity its people in the full spectrum of the rainbow.

The iconic Pride Snowflake of GayWhistler represents the LGBT community as a sun or a star.  Two human forms with their gender, sexual identity, sexual preference, being irrelevant dance and celebrate their unique authentic selves.

The Red sky represents life and the love that is all around us.  The Orange Mountains represent healing and being in touch with Mother Nature.  The Yellow field represents sunlight and the glow of positive energy to keep us well and give us hope.  The Green road represents nature and the journey and progress for LGBT equality and human rights.  The Blue Ocean represents harmony and serenity, the quest to live full authentic lives.  Violet represents spirit, the courage to continue to move forward.  Together they represent the mountain community of Whistler and the urban communities of Vancouver and Richmond and all citizens along the way as we welcome the world to our destination linking our expanding pavilions*.
