Whistler, BC (Dec. 16/08) - Whistler's 17th Annual Gay Ski Week has stepped up a notch and reached for the stars. GayWhistler's WinterPRIDE festival named the #1 Gay Ski Week by PlanetOUT/Gay.com as well as the #1 Lesbian Welcoming Ski Week by Out Traveler at the #1 winter resort of Whistler-Canada, is presenting programming and celebrities from the world stage.
The Mr. Gay World competition will see 24 men coming from all corners of the planet to vie for the covenant title in a 4-day, indoor/outdoor series of events to help a panel of judges identify a strong leader that will inspire those around him and fight for equality of all humans. Two theatrical shows are scheduled for the delegates coming from as far as South Africa and as exotic as Brazil.
On Thursday night, February 5th, the United Colours of WinterPRIDE Fashion Show will see the Mr. Gay World delegates prove that they have style, while the closing night Mr. Gay World Awards Finale will secure their positions as leaders in the LGBT communities from their own private neighborhoods to the international stage.
The Saturday night event will be hosted by Olympic gold medalist star
Mark Tewksbury. The former Canadian swimmer and one of the main forces behind the World Outgames will without a doubt be a great inspiration for the young leaders in training. Vancouver singer/dancer
Armstrong Jr. will jolt a dose of his entertaining musicianship as the performer for the night.

Charlie David joining the
Mr. Gay World delegation as the host for the United Colours of WinterPRIDE Fashion Show. Charlie will share the stage with German soap-opera stars
Thore Schölermann and Jo Weil (Christian and Oliver) from "
Verbotene Liebe" (Forbidden Love) - the daytime series that has swept the world with translations into various languages now available on the internet.
Christina Sing will wow the crowds with her enchanting voice and Willie Taylor will bring comedy with his drag persona.
