Whistler, BC - Whistler's WinterPRIDE 2008 - a winter version of the many summer pride events that are held around the world - will add to its international flavour with the presence of two internationally-renowned DJs to host two of its biggest parties.
Atlanta DJ David Knapp has been confirmed to headline WinterPRIDE's final gala event - the Snowball Dance 'Til Dawn on Saturday, February 9, from 10PM-6AM at the TELUS Whistler Conference Centre. That showcase event will be preceded on Friday evening by the MountainTOP party from 7PM-12AM at the Roundhouse Lodge on Whistler Mountain, with the tunes being spun by New York and Atlanta-based DJ John Millier.
DJ Millier's high-energy vocals and tribal beats will fit seamlessly with the pulsating atmosphere of the MountainTOP party. Special guest DJ David Knapp is expected to bring the WinterPRIDE guests to a "musical" climax at the final party. He is often referred to as 'The People's DJ' because of his unique ability to make each crowd feel like they are grooving at one of the best events ever. Needless to say with a spectacular setting, great venue and some fantastic talent the Snowball Dance 'Til Dawn party is one event you will not want to miss.
Tickets for the MountainTop Dance and Snowball Dance 'Til Dawn are priced at $95 and $85 respectively and can be purchased online at www.gaywhistler.com. For more information on the DJs, visit: www.djdavidknapp.com and www.djmiller.com.
WinterPRIDE 2008 runs from February 3-10, 2008, and continues to revolutionize the traditional gay ski week format with its unique blend of four winter festival elements: Sports, Culinary, Health and Wellness, and Entertainment.
In addition to the world-class skiing and snowboarding being offer in Whistler, many of WinterPRIDE's 2007 highlights will return for 2008, such as an array of dance parties, culinary events, ziptrekking and dogsledding. WinterPRIDE 2008 will also offer an expanded program of on-and-off mountain events, including special events for lesbians and bears that are currently being developed with those communities.
"We are breaking down the barriers of what can and can't be done with a gay ski week event, and we will continue to broaden our offerings to make WinterPRIDE the most inclusive gay ski week in the world," said Sean Kearns, President and CEO of GayWhistler. "WinterPRIDE 2008 will reflect the excitement and true diversity of the gay community."
