17th Annual NNALEA National Training Conference September 9 - 11, 2009
Tulsa, Oklahoma Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa  (Formerly the Cherokee Casino Resort) More than 500 attendees will convene in Tulsa, Oklahoma for the 17h Annual NNALEA National Training Conference which will be held September 9 - 11, 2009. Here are a few updates.
New: Final Conference Agenda POST CreditLaw Enforcement attendees from
New Mexico and Oklahoma who successfully complete the 2009
NNALEA Annual National Training Conference will qualify for POST credit. Those who wish to apply for POST credit must enroll in advance at the East Central University (ECU)
exhibit table at the NNALEA Conference at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tulsa in Tulsa,
Oklahoma on September 8, 2009 and then sign in daily each day of the conference
September 9 - 11, 2009.
College CreditThe Chancellor of Oklahoma State Regents for
Higher Education will award two (2) hours of college credit for the first 15
 students who enroll and who successfully complete the 2009 NNALEA Annual
National Training Conference. The
program will pay for tuition and fees associated with obtaining either
undergraduate or graduate level courses for these 15 students. Further details
on this offer will be available at the ECU Table (see previous paragraph for
details) or by contacting Sonya Hensley at shensley@ecok.edu.
Other Conference Highlights
Pack your favorite running shoes so you can join in the First Annual NNALEA/OJS 5k Walk/Run which will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 starting at 7:00 pm. The 5k Walk/Run is open to all conference attendees and there is no cost to participate. All participants will receive a free event t-shirt.- The 2009 Native American Awards Dinner
will be held on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at the Hard Rock Hotel &
Casino Tulsa starting at 6:45 pm.
- A wide range of exhibitors will be joining us this year, offering extensive resources, products and services for conference attendees.
- The NNALEA
Membership Meeting will be held on Friday, September 11, 2009 starting
at 5:45 PM, followed by a drawing for special prizes.
