Greetings!

Have you listened to your heart lately?  What does it tell you? Are you surrounded by people that fill your heart? or drain it? February is considered the month of love which no question should be honored and celebrated.  But we need to take care of our heart each and every day.  Make sure you are loving yourself up with lots of self care.  As I've mentioned before, the better we love and take care of ourselves, the more we have to give and can show up for others.  Surround yourself with loving people. Life's too short and your heart too precious not to. Get in touch with your heart centered energy and let it radiate!

With love,

 Lynn

10 Quick Tips to a healthy, happy heart!

1. Move your body. Physical exercise is crucial for a healthy heart. Our heart is a muscle and we want to make it stronger!

2. Eat your veggies. Vegetables are loaded with fiber. Build more fiber into your diet.  Fiber helps to lower cholesterol levels, blood sugar and pressure.

3. Give up the cigs! Don't smoke, and avoid second-hand smoke.

4. Choose healthy fats. Incorporate more monounsaturated fats found in olive oil, nuts, seeds, avocado and Omega-3 fatty acids in salmon, flax seeds, and walnuts.

5.  Floss your teeth. Bacteria that causes the gum disease gingivitis has been linked to diseased arteries in heart attack patients.

6. Touch and be touched. Many scientific studies have shown that people who were touched lovingly every day had significantly fewer heart problems than the control group!

7. Eat seaweeds. Seaweed provides rich variety of vitamins and minerals. Seaweeds have been shown to stabilize blood pressure, regulate cholesterol, and dissolve fatty build-ups in the blood vessels.

8. Bring on the beta-carotene. Foods rich in beta-carotenes such as carrots, cabbage, winter squash, sweet potatoes, dark leafy greens, apricots, and seaweed can cut your risk of a stroke by approx. 40%.

9. Garlic, garlic, garlic. Garlic has abilities to lower blood pressure, reduce cholesterol, reduce platelet clumping and clotting (thus reducing strokes) and stabilize blood sugar levels. Eat garlic raw or lightly cooked . (Eat parsley or parsley supplement after to help curtail odor.)

10.  KEEP IT OPEN!  Listen to it, follow it, nourish it.

The medicinal effects of healthy foods, exercise and lifestyle on your heart are extremely powerful and in your own control.

What are Cacao Nibs?

Cacao nibs are peeled, crushed cacao beans. Cacao is a small evergreen tree that is native to tropical Mexico. Its seeds are used to make cocoa and chocolate. A nutritious raw superfood, studies indicate cacao has more antioxidant flavonoids than most any other food, including red wine, blueberries, and green tea. It's an incredibly rich source of magnesium and other essential minerals like calcium, zinc, iron, copper, sulfur and potassium. With its nutty, cocoa flavor, you can add cacao nibs to an assortment of foods such as smoothies, trail mix, and oatmeal. Cacao nibs contain 10 grams of antioxidants per 100 grams of beans. (A normal chocolate bar contains approximately 500 milligrams per 100 grams.)

The antioxidants in cacao may have these benefits:

Decrease blood pressure
Improve circulation
Promote cardiovascular functions and help fight heart disease
Improve function of endothelial cells that line the circulatory system
Provide protection from free radicals, which may trigger cancer, heart disease and stroke
Improve digestion
Organic Raw Cacao Nibs are an incredibly rich source of magnesium (272 mg per 100g.)
Magnesium helps relax nerves and muscles, builds and strengthens bones and keeps blood circulating smoothly.
According to several sources, magnesium is the most deficient major mineral in the American diet with over 80 percent of Americans deficient in magnesium. The body does not produce magnesium, so it must be supplied by one's diet.

May increase your focus and alertness and contains nutrients to keep you happy!
