Greetings!
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday and gratitude my favorite subject! When we live with gratitude our everyday life experience is so much richer. There is usually something you can find as a positive in most any negative situation. Just as I believe negativity, doubt and fear can - "take you down", gratitude can lift and keep you up! Thanksgiving is a beautiful time because most of us are with loved ones and feeling a heightened sense of gratitude. I encourage you though to practice this frame of mind each and every day! Happy Thanksgiving to all.
With the utmost gratitude, Lynn

Gratitude Check
Gratitude and giving thanks for good things in our lives is one of the most positive things we can do towards living a healthy, happy existence. A daily "gratitude check" is important if not hourly, etc.. I am a huge believer in positive mindsets and how they manifest positive things. What you focus on expands. The more grateful you are for good things that already exist in your life, the more positive you will draw into it. If we wallow in thoughts of what's not right, what's missing - we tend attract more disappointment and unfulfilling scenarios. Even if you are currently experiencing real challenges in your life - try your best to appreciate what is going well, no matter how small or insignificant it seems. For some people this comes naturally but others have a chronic habit of always perceiving themselves as a victim of the negative. I personally don't buy into the victim mentality. We all have our struggles in life. We have to take responsibility for our own lives and decisions regardless of what circumstances we are dealt. Here are some ways to practice and build gratitude into your daily life.
- Find time to be grateful. First thing in the morning or before bed (preferably both or more) take a few minutes to think about what's going well.
- Speak gratitude. If you appreciate, love, have a compliment for someone... express it - tell them!
- Live in the moment. Be present in your life for what is good now. Don't waste precious time and energy worrying about the past and future.
- Write it down. Make a gratitude list. This can be general or a list of happenings of which you are thankful for that day.
- Practice forgiveness. Forgiveness is crucial for finding serenity. Forgive, move on, and be thankful for the lesson and opportunity to grow.
- Slow down. Stop and smell those roses!
The more you do this you will draw joyful feelings and emotions into your life experience and the harder it will be to disrupt your happiness. If you struggle with feeling grateful for things, contact me and I will give you a major reality check! We are all magnificently surrounded by blessings in multiple forms and there is always much to be thankful for!
