Greetings!

With warmer weather most people are feeling "lighter" these days.  Whether due to shedding extra layers of clothing or some pounds - when we feel lighter we are more in tune with our natural selves. What gives you energy? What drains it and drags you down?  What makes you feel most alive?  If you are not feeling "good in your skin" these days I encourage you to create space to explore why? Life and time are precious. Figure our what makes you light, happy and inspired and go after it!

Carpe Diem ~  Lynn

Food and Mood

You hear it again and again but it's true balance is the key.  This is clearly true with food.  How many of you are emotional eaters?  As with other substances people often try to soothe themselves, fill themselves, or calm themselves down with food.  Not only do people run to food because they are in a particular mood but a person's mood can be highly affected by what they are putting into their bodies. If you are feeling imbalances in your life and in your mood or a lack of control when it comes to food, I encourage you to slow down and check in with yourself about what may be really going on? Are you using food for nourishment or as a false coping mechanism? Eating is one of the great pleasures in life, but it is also a necessity.  Are you eating to live or living to eat?  It is important to take a good look at patterns in your eating such as what and when you are eating.  Also, when our primary foods such as our relationships, career, physical activities, and spiritual practices are fulfilling and thriving we find we don't focus on or depend on secondary food - the food we eat - to "fill us up" nearly as much.  What's happening with your primary food areas?  They may very well be what needs some examination and attention so that you can find more balance leading to feeling overall "lighter", satisfied and joyful about life!
