Ford's Gourmet Foods Grants Celiacs A Reprieve
Award Winning Gourmet Product Line is Gluten Free
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Raleigh, NC USA - July 3, 2007 - Ford's Gourmet Foods, creators of the world famous Bone Suckin' Sauce, announced today that their entire line of products is gluten free. "We understand what a serious issue Celiac disease is and we're thrilled to find out that our Bone Suckin' Yaki and the Earth Family Asian Sauce are gluten free. It provides people who have to adhere to gluten free diets some great tasting choices," boasts Patrick Ford, international marketing director. This announcement completes the gluten free product circle for the Fords.
ELISA Technologies, Inc., despite the soy sauce found in the Bone Suckin' Yaki and the Earth Family Asian Sauce, informed the Ford's that the gluten levels in both products fall below 5 ppm (parts per million).
The Codex/WHO definition of "Gluten Free" is products that contain less than 200 ppm of Gluten. Currently the FDA does not have clear regulations governing the use of the words "gluten free". However, the proposed FDA regulation would decrease the 200 ppm to 20 ppm for "rendered gluten free" products and 5 ppm for "naturally gluten free" products. All of the Ford's product lines including: Wine Nuts
, Bone Suckin' Sauces
, Fire Dancer
, and the Earth Family Organics and Naturals
have been tested by ELISA and have been found to contain less than 5 ppm of gluten. This is the best and most accurate test the industry can offer at this time. Current technology cannot accurately detect gluten levels less than 5 ppm.
Also to the Ford's delight, Bone Suckin' Yaki, was just reviewed in the NY Daily News who suggested Bone Suckin' Yaki to its' readers for "the grill of a lifetime." Adding to the momentum of Yaki, John Troy, better known as "The Wizard", called the Bone Suckin' Yaki the best teriyaki on the market. "We have been asked over and over to develop a gluten free teriyaki; little did we know we already had one. We are happy to be able to provide another great product to the celiac community," remarked Pat Ford.
The Ford's Gourmet Foods team will be traveling up to the NASFT Summer Fancy Food show in New York, NY July 8-10. You can find all of the Ford's award winning, all natural, no preservatives, gluten free, products online at: www.BoneSuckin.com.
