Love after Love The time will comeWhen, with elation,You will greet yourself arrivingAt your own door, in your own mirror,And each will smile at the other's welcome And say, sit here. EatYou will love gain the stranger who was your self,Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heartTo your life, whom you have ignoredFor another, who knows you by heart.Take down the love letters from the bookshelf, The photographs, the desperate notes,Peel your own image from the mirror.Sit feast on your life.

The Practice of Yoga
Come join us at S'eclairer to learn the benefits of yoga for weight reduction.
Weight Reduction Regular yoga practice can help in weight management. Firstly, some of the asanas stimulate sluggish glands to increase their hormonal secretions. The thyroid gland, especially, has a big effect on our weight because it affects body metabolism. There are several asanas, such as the shoulder stand and the fish posture, which are specific for the thyroid gland. Fat metabolism is also increased, so fat is converted to muscle and energy. This means that, as well as losing fat, you will have better muscle tone and a higher vitality level.
Yogic practices that reduce anxiety tend to reduce anxious eating. In addition, yoga deep breathing increases the oxygen intake to the body cells, including the fat cells. This causes increased oxidation or burning up of fat cells. Yogic exercises induce more continuous and deeper breathing which gradually burns, sometimes forcefully, many of the calories already ingested. |

MANAGING AFFECTS managing affects it's a fulltime job! the weather might be calm marvelous, the whole terrain basking under a pleasant sun purple mountains, amber grain suddenly aflame! a wildfire racing toward the nearest shelter it makes no sense to pour gasoline around the house then torch it, even if it's fun to leap about, howling like the wolf better to be a first responder running bravely toward the danger using your training and experience against the conflagration either way, it's time-consuming or say you have a short drive in the morning, you wake up from a late dream to find muffled silence, thick fog clogging the valley, you can't even see the highway you can fall back into bed, maybe with a page-turner somebody else's spotless daydream, you can even fall asleep back to your own dream or you can find a jacket with a name on the back of it, power up the Prius and drive real slow, headlights smothered weak beams in the low cloud, a perilous passage either way, it's time-consuming

Feng Shui Tips! from Yvonne Phillips FSII
Hang a cut crystal ball in one of your windows. Choose a window that gets bright sunlight and reflects the colors of the crystal. Be sure to keep your crystal clean.
Pathways to your home should be meandering and not straight like a road. Try to balance the area with plants and strive to make the area beautiful.
For good business practice always make sure that you cross your t's and dot your I's to ensure that all your business projects have a good ending.

Poetry Corner

Khalil Gibran (1883-1931) was a Lebanese American of Assyrian descent, an artist, poet and writer. He was born Gibran Khalil Gibran in Lebanon (at the time a Syrian Province of the Ottoman Empire) and spent much of his productive life in the United States. While most of Gibran's early writings were in Syriac and Arabic, most of his work published after 1918 was in English.
On Children -Khalil Gibran
Your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself. They come through you but not from you, And though they are with you yet they belong not to you. You may give them your love but not your thoughts, For they have their own thoughts. You may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you. For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday. You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth. The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far. Let our bending in the archer's hand be for gladness; For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable. |

Nature Nook
Honymooner While
we humans like to think of ourselves as more complex than other members
of the animal kingdom, the truth is that we're not so unique when it
comes to things like sex and courtship. Even our strangest behaviors
can seem tame next to those of other creatures. Aphrodisiacs? Chastity
belts? Sex changes? Animals can match us quirk for quirk.
Small like a sparrow, the Smith's Longspur spends its summers in Alaska
and Canada and its winters in the Midwest and the South. In terms of
range, then, it's a lot like some other species. What sets the Smith's
Longspur apart is its astonishing libido. At the peak of the spring
mating season, the typical Smith's Longspur copulates more than 350
times a week. The females solicit these encounters, and the males
cooperate roughly half the time. Otherwise the creatures are resting
and refueling.
